Ahh, catering.
Hint: Sometimes you don’t actually need labels telling you what you’re looking at.
We have little ceramic signs we can write “carrots” on. I mean, unless you’re doing some remote or extremely multi-ethnic wedding… everyone knows they’re looking at carrots.
So, we had some kids working at one business, and they found the Brother™ label maker.
They went nuts and labelled the floor as “floor” the tape dispenser as “tape”, and even the broom and dustpan.

Nope, no catering, a simple family affair 🙄 My sister labeled everything.

endorsement day for Trump.

Do not recall Cruz mentioning any endorsements.

Perhaps Ted Cruz will get the endorsement of Baltimore Mayor Rawlings-Blake as he seems to have adopted her “Give them room to destroy.” attitude about uncivilized people who hate civilized people.

Surprisingly, John Hinderaker condemns those who blame Trump for the riot yesterday:
Blaming Trump for inflammatory rhetoric would make sense if his followers were roaming the streets attacking passers-by, or infiltrating Clinton and Sanders rallies and attacking Democrats. But they aren’t. Not a single such instance has occurred. On the contrary, every violent or disruptive event has involved people associated with the Democratic Party trying to prevent Trump from being heard. Whose inflammatory rhetoric has inspired them? Certainly not Trump’s. The brownshirts are all on the left, as usual.
Leftists are the instigators here, and they deserve unqualified condemnation. There is no excuse for trying to shut down a speech by a politician with whom you disagree. None. And it is shameful that many liberals, and even a few conservatives, have seized the opportunity to blame anti-Trump excesses on Trump.

Wee has taught me there are no coincidences and the obvious lefties we know were behind it, but Cruz and Beck supporters/anti-Trump protesters were also in Chicago, all of this after a not so secret meeting to discuss stopping Trump.

Michellc, consider this: you might want too add two ranking members of Congress, speaker of the house, majority leader of the senate. And just throw in about 20 billionaires, then George Sores jumps out of the weeds with Ayers. Now what part did Bennie Burn play??

Kasich blames Trump for BLM Soros barbarians who stopped a peaceful rally from taking place through intimidation and violence. Apparently Trump is the only candidate who believes in the First Amendment.

My parents took me to one when I was a child. I bid on something by raising my hand when I in actuality was just pointing something out to my mom on the ceiling. Thankfully someone out bid me immediately.

Back in the old days they were really bad about that and some auctioneers still are.
We have a handful of auctioneers that we attend their estate auctions and they’re all good, honest people who make sure you’re bidding and do their best to make sure you’re not bidding against a family member. (We’ve all been guilty of that more than once, not realizing the other was bidding…lol)
Auctions are kind of like a hobby to us, my Dad took us as kids and so I grew up loving them and turned my DH into an auction lover. We’ve done it so long, we know when they have phantom bids and when they have their people bidding. Some of them are very crooked.
We never return to a crooked auctioneer’s auction.

I agree completely, michellc. This twice-yearly upset to our internal rhythms is unhealthy and accomplishes nothing. Back when it started (1960s, I think) it was touted as a great energy saver. That proved false.

Good morning, everybody. I’m hoping for a better day today, after last night’s debacle. Very disturbing and disheartening. Watching the rallies today with an eagle eye and a bit of anxiety. There are three today:
Dayton, OH: 10 am EST
Cleveland, OH: 2:00 pm EST (a concern)
Kansas City, MO, 7:00 pm EST, 6:00 pm CST (the biggest concern)
Praying for peaceful gatherings, and a coming together of those who love our country.
The Republic From “The Building Of The Ship”
Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
Thou, too, sail on, O Ship of State! Sail on, O Union, strong and great! Humanity with all its fears, With all the hopes of future years, Is hanging breathless on the fate! We know what Master laid the keel, What Workmen wrought thy ribs of steel, Who made each mast, and sail, and rope, What anvils rang, what hammers beat, In what forge and what a heat Were shaped the anchors of thy hope! Fear not each sudden sound and shock, ‘Tis of the wave and not the rock; ‘Tis but the flapping of the sail, And not a rent made by the gale! In spite of rock and tempest’s roar, In spite of false lights on the shore, Sail on, nor fear to breast the sea! Our hearts, our hopes, are all with thee, Our hearts, our hopes, our prayers, our tears, Our faith triumphant o’er our fears, Are all with thee, – are all with thee!

I love estate auctions. My kids have been going for as long as they can remember, but only my daughter enjoys them now that they’re all grown.
Little man thought this one was loads of fun, he was either trying to bid or trying to imitate the auctioneer all day. When he wasn’t trying to run away to talk to people.
We rarely know what he’s saying but he sure has a lot to say and if one person acknowledges him then he tells them a long story and always laughs when he’s finished.
