My Granny although very religious being raised a preacher’s daughter she also had an ornery side and in her older years would crack you up with some of the things she would say. One of her favorite sayings was, “that’s harder than a preacher’s p…k at a Sunday weddin’!”
As a teenager the first time I heard her say it once the shock of my little ol’ granny saying something like that, I doubled over in laughter. I guess today preachers would want paid.

Lapsang is about the only tea I drink other than strong black tea, usually Irish breakfast. I don’t drink Lapsang very often though, only if the floor needs varnishing :). My friends tell me it smells like old man tea 🙄

I know many folks who like Darjeeling. It’s just “not my cup of tea” [groan].
I think it’s because it’s too light for my tastes. I need majorly full-bodied teas, with the amount of milk and sugar I use.
Earl Grey I plain don’t like because of the taste. I do not like flavored teas.

Earl Grey isn’t exactly flavored. It’s more like having lemon in your tea. I suppose it’s a matter of taste. I don’t put either milk or sugar in tea, and I like it strong.

Earl Grey is very smooth to me and has an odd taste. It is one of the best selling teas so lots of people like it, to borrow from Mary, “It’s just not my cup of tea.”

I like bergamot oil in cologne, not tea. My Scottish friends doesn not like the “perfume smell” of Earl Gray, and as a result calls it “gay tea”! LOL! (you know me well enough that I don’t find that 0ffensive).

I’ve been known to do that myself, michellc. I do agree that an iron skillet does the best job.
ADD: Or the oven, although I usually use the iron skillet.

Most of the time I use an iron skillet, sometimes I use the microwave and sometimes I bake it.
If I’m making something in a pot though that has bacon in it, I usually fry it in the pot, so I only mess up one pan.

I’ve taken the store bought precooked bacon and warmed it in the microwave for 20 seconds, but I’ve never tried to “fry” raw bacon in it. How long do you leave it in for?

Precooked bacon doesn’t sound very appetizing.
As for the microwave it really depends on how many slices and your microwave. My old microwave cooked it faster than my new microwave does.
I have one of those microwave bacon trays and I cover the bacon with paper towels. If I’m doing 4 slices I set it for 2 minutes and check the bacon and keep doing it at 1 minute intervals until it’s done. It’s real easy to overcook it in the microwave.

I’ve cooked mine in the microwave for years. I have one of those bacon trays too. I can’t tell a difference. I keep thinking I might try baking it, but I don’t know how messy that is. I don’t want bacon grease popped all over my oven.
I cook they whole tray full of bacon usually, and that takes about five minutes. Like michellc said, I check it frequently.

My Father in Law gave a big presentation, he was the keynote speaker and there was a meet and greet afterward. He had a lot of chats and shook a lot of hands.
He returned to his hotel room very late looked in the bathroom mirror and saw that one tooth right in the front was almost fully covered with what turned out to be a bit of a spinach leaf. 🙂 . Not a soul told him.

It was a typo. 10 is the answer. As Stella pointed out, there was no value after the initial “=” sign. That’s because it was misplaced, and should have been just after the first “x”.

Rory, Joey’s husband, recently shared that her pain had become worse and her health had rapidly declined. After their daughter’s birthday, Joey decided it was time to stop fighting. She said her goodbyes to her family, and shared some final words with each of them before falling asleep. Joey passed away peacefully surrounded by her family around 2:30 this afternoon (March 4). Rory shared the news on his blog, This Life I Live. “…as we were gathered around her, holding hands and praying.. my precious bride breathed her last. And a moment later took her first breath on the other side.”

I’ve been away from the computer all day and just saw this on Bing. I went and read Rory’s blog and saw the precious video of Joey watching the video Dolly Parton sent to her.
I feel so bad for Rory, the kids and her parents and her sisters. I remember people telling me when my sister died that at least we had time to prepare. Not really, you can’t ever be prepared.
I pray God gives all of them strength and comfort.

No, you are never prepared. To me it is worse – as if they’ve died twice. Once when the diagnosis is in and you know there’s no hope barring a miracle ……. and again when the inevitable happens. 😦

I remember when my dad died. It was so long from the time he was diagnosed until the time that he actually died, it was a shock. My mom wasn’t given very long at all, and I was forced to deal with it every minute of every day because I was caring for her. It was hard, but I saw it coming.

Just saw someone on PBS that I knew personally – Don Was (previously known as Don Fagenson, his real name). It’s a documentary about the Grande Ballroom in Detroit. Don is now President of Blue Note Records.
