ZurichMike Pork-o-Meter rating of 3 ouf of 10. Heavy, heavy sigh. The only good breakfast plate of the lot is the one to the left with the two eggs Benedict with ham and the three link sausage. The poor little plate of inartfully arranged bacon is shunted to the side and not even fully in the photo, as if it were an afterthought of girlie decoration for the “Oh-well-I-just-couldn’t-because-of-my-diet” routine while the sip on juice and nibble on that thing that looks like it has a small hemlock growing out of it. Proportion of pork products to overall food selection is far too low. This may be a breakfast the Jeb! or Marco would giggle over and talk about how they lost so many states but are still winning, but it’s just not the Breakfast of Bacon I know that you can provide if you put your mind to it.

P.S. Wild Turkey does *not* need to be spiced. Just sayin’.

Still catching up on the election results. Trump had a great night overall, I think, and Cruz did better than I expected. Rubio is a buzzing mosquito, and will continue to buzz until at least the middle of March, I imagine. Here’s something Will Rogers once said about the Presidency:

“I would love to see Mr. (Henry) Ford in there, really. I don’t know who started the idea that a President must be a Politician instead of a Business man. A Politician can’t run any other kind of business. So there is no reason why he can run the U.S. That’s the biggest single business in the World.” January 14, 1923

I admit I’m still a little bummed about Oklahoma, but something I read on FB is the truth. Any other year after winning as many states as Trump did yesterday we would be told by the party and the media what a big night they had, but instead we’re being made to believe he had a horrible night and because he didn’t sweep all the states that somehow this shows he can’t win.

As for Will Rogers every year we go to the Will Rogers Memorial rodeo and every year I hear something else that Will Rogers had said that I didn’t know. He was a smart and funny man.
As the story goes in 1934 he was attending a school reunion and told the folks in Vinita, “Have a rodeo here next year and I’ll come back.” He returned for the old timers parade, but on August 15, 1935, days before the rodeo him and his pilot, Wiley Post were killed in a plane crash. It was decided then that the rodeo would be held as a memorial to Will Rogers and has continued every year.

    • It was 72 in NC yesterday. Today it was 52. I think that Presidential candidates should have to pass a test on U. S. History and the U. S. Constitution. Failure would result in being dropped out of the race. Ben Ginsberg was on MSNBC talking about how the Republicans could have a contested convention and prevent Trump from getting the nomination. You know, I feel bad for children who are experiencing this political season. I have never seen anything so crazy in all my years.

Shift-6 is a carat. Used mainly by programmers as a math function. Normal people, who shoot the sh&& about the weather, would get great use out of the degree symbol, because, when chewing the cud over the coming storm system or whatever, we talk about degrees. But it’s not on my keyboard, and a few things are on my keyboard that I have never used in my entire life.

Normal people get no use whatsoever out of the Pipe symbol and the Carat.

We should start a petition to get the Degree symbol on keyboards. Let the programmers, those nerds, use Alt-codes for Pipe and Carat.

I have decided not to attend the Fox News GOP Presidential Debate tomorrow night in Detroit. Even though I will not be in my hometown of Detroit on Thursday, I remain deeply committed to my home nation, America. I do not see a political path forward in light of last evening’s Super Tuesday primary results. However, this grassroots movement on behalf of “We the People” will continue. Along with millions of patriots who have supported my campaign for President, I remain committed to Saving America for Future Generations. We must not depart from our goals to restore what God and our Founders intended for this exceptional nation.

I appreciate the support, financial and otherwise, from all corners of America. Gratefully, my campaign decisions are not constrained by finances; rather by what is in the best interests of the American people.

I will discuss more about the future of this movement during my speech on Friday at CPAC in Washington, D.C.

Police: McClendon crashed traveling at ‘high rate of speed’

    http://www.cnbc.com/2016/03/02/ex-chesapeake-ceo-mcclendon-dies-in-car-wreck-day-after-indictment.html

Aubrey McClendon, a founder and former chief executive of Chesapeake Energy, died in a single-car crash Wednesday at age 56, a day after he was charged with conspiring to rig bids for oil and natural gas leases.

McClendon crashed into an embankment while traveling at a “high rate of speed” in Oklahoma City just after 9 a.m. Wednesday morning, said Capt. Paco Balderrama of the Oklahoma City Police Department. Flames engulfed McClendon’s vehicle “immediately,” and it was burnt so badly that police could not tell if he was wearing a seatbelt, he said.

“He pretty much drove straight into the wall,” Balderrama said.

Police said they still needed to determine an exact cause.

McClendon, a Duke graduate, was a part owner of the National Basketball Association’s Oklahoma City Thunder. The team plays its home games at Chesapeake Energy Arena.

McClendon had denied the charges against him. The alleged conspiracy took place between December 2007 and March 2012, Tuesday’s federal indictment said.

More of what Trump talked about re tickets to GOP debates:

Good luck getting into Detroit’s GOP debate

Lansing — The Michigan Republican Party received more than 21,000 ticket requests for Thursday’s presidential debate in Detroit but will only be giving out about 50 tickets to the public.

The Republican National Committee allocated 400 tickets to the state party, which is expected to give roughly 350 to elected officials, state committee members and grassroots activists, said Michigan GOP spokeswoman Sarah Anderson.

This leaves 50 tickets for the public. The tickets will be randomly awarded to some of the 21,000 people who filled out an online form on the state party website.

I went with a friend to Deadpool this afternoon. I had some misgivings about the movie before we went, but I had no idea what we were in for. We left after 40 min. and we only stayed that long because I thought she wanted to stay and she thought I wanted to stay. Finally, I said I couldn’t stand it anymore and we left. It was the most vile, disgusting, obscene, violent piece of garbage I have had the displeasure of viewing since Texas Chainsaw Massacre when it first came out. We did accomplish one thing, though. We stopped at a restaurant and the waitress said her 6 year old son was begging to see it and we told her not to take him. She was glad to know how bad it was.

It is not just that it was violent. While he was shooting, stabbing, and running over people he was joking and laughing. He kept making remarks about questionable sexual practices all along. His sex scene with his girlfriend was pornographic to my way of thinking. And, I had the feeling we were supposed to be sympathetic to him because of what had happened to him. That bothered me.

How in the world could something like this happen? The poor family.

    http://www.nbcwashington.com/news/local/Family-Says-Grandmothers-Body-Missing-370716441.html

A Washington, D.C., family says their grandmother’s body has apparently been lost after they arrived at her viewing to find a different deceased woman in the casket.

“I saw the body of another female that wasn’t my grandmother,” Tawana Murphy told News4’s Pat Collins. “My heart dropped. I was in disbelief.”

The grandchildren say when they walked into Gray’s viewing at Horton’s Funeral Home in Northwest last Friday, the woman in the casket was not Gray, but was wearing the clothes they previously brought to the funeral home for their grandmother.
