    ‘Ted Cruz was the Zodiac Killer’: Senator finds himself the butt of jokes because of his uncanny resemblance to the California serial killer

    Public Policy Polling included the question at the end of their polls and found 10% of people thought he was the Zodiac Killer, with 28% ‘unsure’

    Food for thought. How to stop the domestic enemy in one fell swoop.
    Pardon Power
    The president is given the power under the Constitution to “grant reprieves and pardons for offenses against the United States, except in cases of impeachment.” The president may grant a full pardon to a person accused or convicted of a federal crime, releasing the person from any punishment and restoring her or his Civil Rights. The president may also issue conditional pardons that forgive the convicted person in part, reduce a penalty a specified number of years, or alter a penalty with conditions.
    A pardon is generally a private transaction between the president and an individual. However, in 1977, President jimmy carter granted an Amnesty that was, in effect, a blanket pardon to those who were either deserters or draft evaders during the Vietnam War.

    Good morning! I’ve just been read for the past hour or so, so I’ll go get my coffee in a minute, and think about what’s for breakfast (probably oatmeal with dried cherries).

    It looks like we have a couple of warmer days this weekend – up into the fifties tomorrow. Hooray! The snow will melt again, but I’m sure we will get more of it before winter is done with us. In the meantime, I will think Spring.

    Spring
    By Gerard Manley Hopkins
    Nothing is so beautiful as Spring –
    When weeds, in wheels, shoot long and lovely and lush;
    Thrush’s eggs look little low heavens, and thrush
    Through the echoing timber does so rinse and wring
    The ear, it strikes like lightnings to hear him sing;
    The glassy peartree leaves and blooms, they brush
    The descending blue; that blue is all in a rush
    With richness; the racing lambs too have fair their fling.

    What is all this juice and all this joy?
    A strain of the earth’s sweet being in the beginning
    In Eden garden. – Have, get, before it cloy,
    Before it cloud, Christ, lord, and sour with sinning,
    Innocent mind and Mayday in girl and boy,
    Most, O maid’s child, thy choice and worthy the winning.

      Good morning Stella.
      It’s supposed to get up into the 70’s today, but it better get to warming up it’s still only 35*, which is 3 degrees higher than it was when I got up this morning.

      If it’s as pretty tomorrow as they say, NaNa and PaPa are taking the little man fishing and his Mommy and Daddy if they want to come. The last time he went fishing he was still too small to hold the pole, but he did like holding the little fish. Now his PaPa has been teaching him and he knows how to reel. Doesn’t quite have the casting down, but he can reel. lol

    Roger says Trump will jail Hillary and Chelsea. Lots of information. Hopefully the video won’t disappear.

          I lived in Kingsland, Ga. Swampy land. Pigmy rattlers, coral snakes, cottonmouth moccasins, huge southern rattlers were in that area. My husband never mowed without a loaded shotgun on the riding lawnmower with him, and he always fired it. He said the only good snake was a dead snake.

            I don’t like any snakes, we have copperheads, cotton mouths, timber rattlers and it’s not unheard of to see a diamond back.
            Our biggest problem though are copperheads, we kill them every year.
            Although we never go to the pond without a shotgun because 80% of the time a cottonmouth will be on the bank.
            Because we have chickens, non-venomous snakes are also a problem for us, because they eat the eggs and chicks and will kill even a big chicken trying to eat it.
            I do not like snakes, any kind of snakes, if they stay out in the woods and I walk upon one it gets to live. However, if it comes near my house or my barn it doesn’t.

          {cetera}

          Thank you. I was wondering how you managed to wander over here.

          I’m working a lot, close to 40 hours, anyway. I managed to go a whole 12 days without beer. Now I limit it to evenings, after accomplishing something for the business.

          I didn’t stick with the program, though I have been in contact with a couple folks in it. Too corporate (Zondervan, to be exact) for me. I’m just adamantly opposed to calling 53 completely different books “The Word of God”. Look: I don’t care if they use Harry Potter as their source material. Just don’t go calling it the Bible. And they use everything EXCEPT the KJV. KJV is like a Crucifix to their vampire, apparently. Douay Rheims would be like ten Crucifixes, a ten-pound bag of garlic cloves, and a whole stack of wooden stakes.

          Every single thing else is A-Okay, though. It reminds me of Western public schools’ take on religions. Every single thing other than Judaism and Christ is A-Okay and just Ducky. Same deal.

          I know retail. I know what a sales display looks like, and how to make one.

          When I see, at my first meeting, all the Zondervan books all propped up under the podium like a sales display, I know I’m looking at a sales display.

          Sometimes I hate this discernment thing. It can be frustrating being one of the only people I know who actually value truth. (Or at least thinking that a lot.)

          Regardless, I’m glad you made it here.

            And they, naturally, fight tooth and nail to prevent any change to their status quo.

              Agree, you are much better in words than I. They are enjoying the status quo, and I might as well if in their shoes. But, I choose to not live off the expense of others, I prefer to live off of my own energies. That is me and my standard.
              A doctor friend of mine a few years ago, lost a woman he was dating because he couldn’t take off on whim as much as she wanted. Her response to his practice and in healing others was, ” You have not yet learned how not to work”. So off she went. My friend was saddened and stunned, I mean, he is a doctor doing a service in humankind, and yet, was not deemed suitable. good enough.
              Now, to me, to “not have to work” you must use other people to provide you with the ability to be free to travel, explore and recreate in leisure. Slave labor is what I call it, and it is happening all across the world.
              And, you can say that wise investment of monies earned could produce the same, an avenue I probably should have done wise to follow. It is still produced relying on other peoples efforts, but may be a more civil approach.
              These government/elite/hedgefund/bankers/corporations are living high on the hog due to their manipulations to keep them aloft, above the fray. They govern with tyranny of others, and the freedom of anarchy for themselves.
              The Founders of this country, having experienced this and having fought a war to escape this, wrote the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution to block this from happening again. Anyone currently stating they are a “Constitutionalist” today, while accepting the status quo, should be laughed out of the place. I would say shot, but I am afraid of being so bold any more myself.

    Something more I didn’t know about Trump;

    Donald Trump offers to purchase site of Ground Zero mosque

    Donald Trump, the real estate mogul, has offered to purchase the site of the proposed Islamic community centre and mosque near Ground Zero with a 25 per cent markup.

    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/northamerica/usa/7993347/Donald-Trump-offers-to-purchase-site-of-Ground-Zero-mosque.html

    Mr Trump made the offer with the condition that any community centre must be built at least five blocks away from the site of the World Trade Centre, where nearly 3,000 people died in the al Qaeda suicide attacks of Sept 11, 2001.

    He offered Hisham Elzanaty, an Egyptian-born New York businessman, a 25 per cent premium over the $4.8 million price that his investment consortium paid for the site, which is just two blocks from ground zero.

    “I am making this offer as a resident of New York and citizen of the United States, not because I think the location is a spectacular one (because it is not), but because it will end a very serious, inflammatory, and highly divisive situation,” Mr Trump wrote in his letter to Mr Elzanaty.
