Wow! The RNC using Trump’s name to solicit donations for the RNC 🙄

    Tonight should be very interesting.

The RNC, which is probably not on my side, just illegally put out a fundraising notice saying Donald Trump wants you to contribute to the RNC.

“Get on Trump’s List” is totally unauthorized, do not pay! I am self funding my campaign! Notice has just been withdrawn.

A bunch of Trump haters tweeting on the CBS live feed site. I do agree, on one thing Iraq, go to win. Gen. Zini had the right idea, then the DOD and Rumsfeld screwed it. Bush does share a tad of blame for 9/11, all of blame needs to be on Clinton.

This debate was pretty bad, too much yelling, the audience was horrible, imho if you’re going to have an audience they should be told to shut up. No applause and certainly no booing, half the time you couldn’t even hear what the candidates were saying.

I guess though I missed something, when was Jeb wanting to moon folks and why?

I’ve seen pundits say that Trump did poorly – was angry etc – but he’s ahead in all the “who won the debate” polls. I think Drudge has him just under 60% having him as winner.

Trump was in enemy territory, including the audience and the moderators. Trump is also used to holding himself and those he surrounds himself with to a high standard so I doubt that anyone in his inner circle is surprised by Trump criticizing Bush W. I’m not sure whether or not his criticism of George W will move any needles. The after debate polls suggest that Trump is the nominee IMO unless something drastic happens.

People are simply tired of Washington corruption and I think if Trump goes after the Bush dynasty as he did in the debate tonight and wins handily in SC then the party is over for the GOP.

I think Trump effectively neutralized the nasty crowd by rightly saying that they are the puppet masters of the other men on the stage.

That is one thing I do remember and with all the other distractions of the night it will probably be what many remember, those that didn’t turn it off anyway and that was him saying he was working for you, pointing at the camera and not for them, pointing to the donors.

Loud audience booing.. You know what that is? That’s Jeb’s special interests and lobbyists talking”

I agree that Jeb is just really odd. He seems to be a man uncomfortable in his own skin.

I’ve heard people say they don’t think he really wanted to run for President but he’s running because he was always expected to be President.
That could explain his oddness, he’s been told all of his life he’s the political genius in the family and has surrounded himself with people who tell him so.
So to him he was going to be given the prize but then discovers that people don’t want to give him the prize and really don’t even like him.
So he doesn’t know how to act, so he just comes off as an idiot.

I think Jeb is very comfortable with people who say “You have the pedigree to be president” not so much with people who challenge his vision of himself. I don’t think he thought that there was even a question as to whether or not he would be the nominee, Jeb in his mind is special, he is anointed.

I watched the whole thing and I think that Trump looked awful, sounded awful and he was childish repeatedly and really stepped in it when he misused the “Bush kept us safe” sentiment and conflated that with the day of 9/11. That was bizarre and showed an ignorance of the facts. Generally, he has become a bad element in the whole process after starting as a good element.

scherado, apologies for commenting late (I usually do), but I see this much differently than you. On 9/11 I was one of the “too-busy-to-pay-attention” crowd. To this day I do not understand why we went into Iraq. My first thoughts were to avenge Daddy Bush. All of a sudden there were WMDs in Iraq? From where did they come? Why did we stay so long and yet again not win but just killed more U.S. troops? Saddam Hussein was just another strongman dictator in the ME, nothing unusual. I also did not understand why Gaddafi was killed, nor even why Clinton bombed Hussein, let alone the bombing in Bosnia, etc.

A good many of us were experiencing the effects of NAFTA, globalization, and an emerging “service economy.” The network news told us little, and blogs were not yet in existance. Knowing now what I did not know then, I still blame Bush and Clinton, as well as the U.S. Congress. I was cheering Mr. Trump for showing my own anger.

Thanks jeans2nd and no need to apologize.

Please note that my comment is very narrow: Trump either showed a misunderstanding of the phrase, “Bush kept us safe”, or he misrepresented it with intent. Trump attempted to use the events of the DAY of 9/11 as evidence that Bush did NOT keep us safe, when the phrase is used and understood to mean that he kept us safe in the years after 9/11 and, even, until the end of his Presidency.

Given that, the only people who understand the reasons we invaded Iraq and ended Saddam Hussein’s regime are those who are privileged to access all levels of intelligence. I could tell you my opinions, but I don’t know how well they comport with reality, if you know what I mean.

For me I kept getting distracted by him pausing so much.
I think though Trump and Rubio both left a mark with calling him out on lying.

To be honest though out of all the debates this one left me not being able to remember much that was said. The audience was a huge distraction and then the yelling back and forth was giving me a headache.

I couldn’t blame him at the moment he walked in there was yelling, booing and clapping all going on.

He won’t watch anymore of the debates, he says he doesn’t know what the heck can be said that hasn’t already been said in the first 5 or 6.

That’s why I like watching the rallies, is to watch the people. I’m firm in my decision to vote for Trump and will do so in a few weeks. I have to admit, since I’ve heard everything so many times, it’s kind of boring now.
I don’t watch the entire rallies anymore, I watch to see how many people and then watch their reactions as Trump takes the stage and after about 5 minutes I quit watching.

Lovely, Trump did very well in enemy territory. Not only holding his own in the exchange with Yeb on Iraq, Trump advanced his attack.
Cruzer was just watching this exchange, hoping Trump/Yeb would say or do something regrettable. Remember G.W. Bush played very dirty in SC against McLame. Maybe Cruzer just wanted to be seen as reasonable, don’t need too trade insults or barbs in order to make my point.
Enjoyed the fisticuffs between, Trump, Yeb. Shows he is not afraid to kick some butt, and will not take s$it from anybody.

With any candidate other than Trump I would say that his criticism of George W Bush would hurt him.

Many conservatives are weary of liberals blaming every ill of the world on GW Bush, but I for one am more weary of the Machiavellian Bush Dynasty of which Jeb seems to be the court jester. Yet the Bush family seems more than happy to park Jeb at 1300 Pennsylvania Ave. I don’t want another Bush in the oval office. I especially don’t want the awkward, self entitled family buffoon.

I believe that Trump holds himself and those he surrounds himself with, including his children to an extremely high standard so I think his criticism of the Towers coming down on the watch of GW Bush may actually help Trump as he is holding GW Bush to the same standard that he would hold himself. Trump’s authenticism tips the scales in his favor .
