An Atlanta police officer was killed on Thursday. My sister cop works in a neighboring precinct to the Riverdale precinct and received additional information on the shooting. The officer killed was an administrative officer that was not assigned to work the street (desk jockey). However, the shift was short staffed and he went out to help cover. The department pays and provides all officers with bullet proof vests. The officer was not wearing his vest. Sorry, but play stupid games and you win stupid prizes. There was no reason for him to not be wearing a bullet proof vest. He died from stupidity. Sounds harsh, but this was a high ranking officer that should have been setting an example for his subordinates. He was also an officer that sets policies that effect the officers on the street. If he lacked the judgement to wear a bullet proof vest in a tough high crime neighborhood, imagine what kind of policies he might have enacted. His actions could have placed other officers in danger. This is not an isolated case. Administrative officers go in the field unprepared and place other officers in danger.

I am pro-police but LE need to pull their heads out of their a$$es. Their job is dangerous and difficult in this climate.

Morning Friends! Here’s your sled dog update. The front of the race has been dominated by the trio of Brent Sass, Allen Moore, and Hugh Neff. All three are excellent professional mushers. Hugh is the guy who beat Allen by 26 seconds to win in 2012. For most of this race, Brent has been in the lead with Allen and Hugh 10 to 20 miles behind. Brent had a two hour lead coming out of the big 36-hour rest. That was about 10 hours ago. Now Hugh has the lead, Allen is less than a mile behind him, and Brent is 13 miles behind Allen. They have about 350 miles of trail ahead. Most of it is a steady but gradual uphill climb; the big peaks are behind them now. A second team has scratched, leaving 21 teams competing. Go Allen!

    Can You Beat This.?

Currently Unleaded Gasoline is $1.29 A Gallon.!

Average price around my deep east Texas town is about $1.45 to $1.49 a gallon.

And, the local discount gas station always sells lower than everyone else.!

But now Walmart a half a block away from Discount decides to build their own gas station. Result seems to be a nostalgic gas war going on between Walmart and the Discount Station. When one lowers it’s price the other matches it.! – And – I’m Loving it.! Now it’s $1.29 a gallon.!

Have you seen a gallon of gas any lower than this in your neighborhood.?

The most dangerous airports video made me think about Midway Island. It had a short runway, 7800 ft., I believe it was. I don’t really know how that equates with other landing strips. But, when you came in for a landing it looked like you were going in the water, but just as the wheels hit, there was land under them. Then, you skidded almost to the other end of the runway and stopped before you hit water. I lived there for a couple of years around 1969.

I was unaware of what happened to the island after I left. In 1996 Clinton transferred jurisdiction to the Dept. of the Interior. They made an agreement with the Midway Phoenix Cooperation. “A primary goal of the cooperative agreement was to operate the island at near no cost to the American taxpayer while hosting a visitor program.”

Evidently they made many improvements and successfully ran the program until 2002 when the agreement was terminated, buildings torn down, and other facilities let go into ruin, ending up costing over $100 million to the taxpayer. Your government at work. SMH

Mom, first trip to RVN, landed on Wake Island. Same deal, water then the runway. The terminal was an old building with a nickel Coke machine out front. Few yards away from the terminal was a monument too the Marines who made their stand on Midway, 1941-42.

    Sounds good to me.

In an early-February statement to Breitbart News, Trump’s campaign also said he would push for a reduction in legal immigration.

I will support legislation to reduce the numbers, and will oppose legislation to increase the numbers. I have laid out a detailed plan to accomplish this goal on my website http://www.DonaldJTrump.com. My suggested reforms include a requirement to give all open jobs to Americans first — instead of importing foreign replacements. This plan will appeal to voters from all walks of life by making it easier for workers in this country to find jobs and support their families. It will also help minority workers, youth, and previous immigrants who face intense job competition from waves of incoming foreign workers.

    Obama FP explained at last.
In Syria, Obama-backed “Rebels” Battle Obama-backed Militias
Further illustrating what would at least appear to be the incredible absurdity of what passes for U.S. government “foreign policy,” Sunni jihadist “rebels” in Syria backed by al-Qaeda and the Obama administration have been battling against Shia militias that have also been backed by Obama. Both sides are fighting with American weapons, according to news reports. How much money U.S. taxpayers forked over to arm the two warring Islamic factions was not immediately clear. But the enormous human tragedy on the ground is getting worse quickly.

I wonder when Chelsea believed that her daughter Charlotte became human and had the inalienable right to live?

It both amazes and sickens me when a woman experiences a life grow within her, feels the firsts kicks, stretches even hiccups of their growing baby yet still holds the view that it would have been fine to butcher that baby as long as the she was still in their womb.

I feel the same. I knew I carried a live little baby weeks after conception, even before I felt them move, but of course it is undeniable when you feel the every twist turn and stretch.

Further, it was evident while I was pregnant that each child had vastly different personalities, moved differently, had different times they rested, and different things upset then and made them restless.

One of my favorite stories is about a young woman who was going to have an abortion, she was very newly pregnant, for some reason 4 weeks comes to mind, so long before she would feel movement. She had her appointment scheduled like it was tooth extraction. She went to visit someone with a friend, she didn’t know that the person they were visiting had a dog and the dog charged at the pregnant woman, she instinctively put her hands over her stomach area to protect her baby.

The pregnant woman was moved by her own reaction and realized she was carrying a baby, who her natural instinct was to protect. She cancelled the abortion appointment and her baby survived the womb.

Is it still considered abortion once they reach college? And the government will cover that? ….. What happens with the cosigned student loan? Are the parents still on he hook for it?

A fine morning to all of you! It’s a good day here to stay in (if you can) where it is warm, the coldest day this year so far (3* right now). But – there is a blue sky, and pretty fresh snow on the ground, so I guess it beats those gray, dirty, days that we’ve had so many days this year.

Left or right, there are people that will always accept what information is spoon fed to them without question by their side, and will defend to the last breath the information as truth. I know there have always been followers, and there will always be followers. My question is; how did the people that can’t think for themselves (i.e. seeming lack of ability to do any critical thinking) get into positions where they tell everyone else what to think. I’m not talking about the people on the TV news, I talking about their bosses.

For all of our folks who served in the military, this settles the science. As seen on the FB this morning. 😆

A Soldier, a Sailor, an Airman and a Marine got into an argument about which branch of the service was The Best.
The arguing became so heated the four servicemen failed to see an oncoming truck as they crossed the street. They were hit by the truck and killed instantly.

Soon, the four servicemen found themselves at the Pearly gates of Heaven.

There, they met Saint Peter and decided that only he could be the ultimate source of truth and honesty.

So, the four servicemen asked him, Saint Peter, which branch of the United States Armed Forces is the best?

Saint Peter replied, I can’t answer that. However, I will ask God what He thinks the next time I see Him. Meanwhile, thank you for your service on Earth and welcome to Heaven.

Sometime later the four servicemen see Saint Peter and remind him of the question they had asked when first entering Heaven and asked Saint Peter if he was able to ask God for the answer to their answer?

Suddenly, a sparkling white dove lands on Saint Peters shoulder. In the dove’s beak is a note glistening with gold dust. Saint Peter opens the note, trumpets blare, gold dust drifts into the air, harps play crescendos and Saint Peter begins to read the note aloud to the four servicemen:

MEMORANDUM FROM THE DESK OF THE ALMIGHTY
TO: All Former Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, Marines and Coast Guard

Subject: Which Military Service Is the Best?

    1. All branches of the United States Armed Forces are honorable and noble.

    2. Each serves America well and with distinction.

    3. Serving in the United States military represents a great honor warranting special respect, tribute, and dedication from your fellow man.

    4. Always be proud of that.

    Warm Regards,
    GOD

Yukon Quest update. Whooo hooooo! Allen has taken the lead!! He is now at mile 710 and traveling 3 mph faster than Hugh, who is 13 miles behind him. Brent is 27 miles behind Allen, and traveling 1 mph slower. Allen and his team are moving at 8.6 mph, which is a very good pace at this point in the race. If he can maintain a pace > 7 mph, he should be able to hold the lead.
