Window for an independent Trump bid is wide open
Trump could compete in Republican primaries through late March — when two-thirds of states will have voted and two-thirds of delegates will have been awarded — before deciding to mount an independent run and still make the ballot in every or nearly every state if he is willing to pay the seven-figure price.
Keep this in mind….just a hunch.

I think that’s a bad idea. Waste of money, too. Independents never win.

I think if Trump doesn’t win the Republican nomination we have no hope left. People can sugar coat it all they want and they can claim if you don’t vote for X candidate, which X appears to be Rubio then Hillary or Bernie will be elected and that Rubio or X candidate is better than them. However, with Rubio or X candidate or Hillary or Bernie you will get millions of illegals who are now legal. You might even get it easier with the Republican than the democrat because there will be very little opposition in Congress.

An independent run by Trump will get you two terms of Her Thighness. If Trump does such a thing, then it will give the lie to “I want to make America great again.”

      Stella is 100% correct.

I don’t think Trump will run as an independent. He’s too smart – and not fond of wasting money.

It seems to me that the factors in play are vanity and pride; that is, no worthy principle is involved. When Perot ran for President by third-party, it was an act of revenge against Bush Sr.–it was personal. Does anyone remember? I believe that Trump will ignore the possible destruction of the country (making it personal) to “win”. The other possibility is, two terms of Joe Biden. I do hope that you are right and I am wrong.
