Good morning! Warm February day today. I must make a visit to the market today, because the cupboards are just about bare. For some reason, I have avoided shopping the past several months; my last trip to the store (other than Amazon, Costco) was before Christmas. Completely out of just about everything.

I just got my first celebrity retweet this morning – Diana West, author of American Betrayal. It was my post about why Mark Levin is so enraged at Sundance & the Conservative Treehouse. People are still reading it, a few every day. I am always interested in what other people think is interesting. Now Diana’s followers are retweeting, so I’ll get more traffic because of that.

I hope you all have a wonderful day. Taqi – did you finish painting?

    Quote of the day:

“Loud are the thunder drums in the tents of the mountains.
    Oh, long, long
    Have we eaten chia seeds
and dried deer’s flesh of the summer killing.
We are tired of our huts
and the smoky smell of our clothing.
We are sick with the desire for the sun
And the grass on the mountain.”
    – Paiute Late Winter Song

Well it took them over 2 years and they only replaced one electric pole not all they marked to be replaced in June, 2014. They’ve had the phone company to come mark the lines over a dozen times.

I guess that’s the breaks of a COOP, they pay somebody to come mark all the poles that need to be replaced, then it takes another year before the next on the totem pole comes out to look at the first guy’s flags. Then another guy to come tell us they’re going to be replacing the poles, something the first guy already told us.

Then they only replace one electric pole when they come to do the job and only the one we keep telling them is going to snap, it was getting quite scary. Then they don’t give us advanced warning as they said they would do and they don’t move the cable that they said they would move so it wouldn’t be next to our drive. Then it took 3 trucks and 8 guys to replace one pole. One to operate the auger and wench, two to guide the poles and place the one in the hole and shovel the dirt back in. One to hook the cable back up. One to operate the bucket truck for the one to unhook and hook the wires. Two to supervise.

I asked them about the other poles and they said they didn’t know anything about any other poles. SMH

Ugh. Around here we have a co-op and they are on it. But we have to pay 14 a month for it. It is worth it though. When you call you get a live human being to talk to.

      • michellc's avatar michellc says:

Most of the time you get to talk to a live person, but our rates are almost double what the folks in town pay.

This one is better than the one we had for years before we moved and this one was great up until about 5 or 6 years ago and they got a new director. It has been bad since then, the people are rude and where as used to if you were down they’d dispatch somebody within the hour now it’s up to 24 hours even if there are no other outages.

They used to would keep the trees trimmed, but now you have to call and be put on a list, even if you’re letting them know about trees along the road.

We do vote for board members but we’re always outvoted.

My brother is in a different part of the state and he loves his as they’re always on the ball and his rates are 1/4 of ours.

I have never heard of the Hill of Crosses.

I want to go and experience it.

    https://sacredsites.com/europe/lithuania/hill_of_crosses.html

Captured by Germany in World War II, the city suffered heavy damage when Soviet Russia retook it at the war’s end. From 1944 until Lithuania’s independence in 1991, Siauliai was a part of the Lithuanian Soviet Socialist Republic of the USSR. During the Soviet era, the pilgrimage to the Hill of Crosses served as a vital expression of Lithuanian nationalism. The Soviets repeatedly removed Christian crosses placed on the hill by Lithuanians.

Three times, during 1961, 1973 and 1975, the hill was leveled, the crosses were burned or turned into scrap metal, and the area was covered with waste and sewage. Following each of these desecrations local inhabitants and pilgrims from all over Lithuania rapidly replaced crosses upon the sacred hill. In 1985, the Hill of Crosses was finally left in peace. The reputation of the sacred hill has since spread all over the world and every year it is visited by many thousands of pilgrims. Pope John Paul II visited the Hill of Crosses in September of 1993.

Cruz, lying to people to get them to vote for you instead of another candidate is wrong. What your campaign did was wrong for anyone to do and it’s really wrong for someone running for President to do and for someone screaming from the rooftops that they are a Christian it’s disgusting.

This kind of stuff might fool some people and some may even like it, but somehow I do not think God finds cheating and lying amusing while calling yourself a man of God.

“It is no surprise that Trump is throwing another temper tantrum, or Trumper-tantrum. His answer to everything is to throw a fit… Donald Trump guaranteed a victory in Iowa and he lost…”

Donald’s insults gets more and more hysterical the more and more upset he gets. It’s fine. I’m not going to respond in kind… He’s losing it… We’re liable to wake up one morning and Donald if he were president would have nuked Denmark.

    http://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/oregon-standoff-leader-ammon-bundy-others-indicted/ar-BBp5EFZ?ocid=ansmsnnews11

A federal grand jury has indicted Ammon Bundy and some of the men and women who joined him at the armed occupation of an Oregon wildlife refuge, authorities said Wednesday.

However, the indictment remained sealed and further details on the charges were unavailable.

Defense attorneys demanded the immediate unsealing of the indictment — a request denied Wednesday by U.S. Magistrate Judge Janice Stewart.

“You will get a copy of the indictment in due course, don’t worry,” Stewart said. Arraignment was set for Feb. 24.

In a criminal complaint, defendants have a right to a preliminary hearing in which they can question the arresting officer under oath about probable cause for the charges.

After an indictment, they are no longer entitled to such a proceeding.

The cancellation of preliminary hearings that had been scheduled for Wednesday dismayed attorneys for the accused.

Ammon Bundy’s Attorneys Withdraw Appeal For Pre-Trial Release

    http://www.opb.org/news/series/burns-oregon-standoff-bundy-militia-news-updates/ammon-bundy-appeal-for-a-second-hearing/

The lawyers for Ammon Bundy withdrew their motion Tuesday for a second detention hearing for their client.

The attorneys intended to appeal a decision from last week, when Bundy was denied bail. He was arrested last Tuesday, after leading the armed occupation at the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge for nearly a month.

Ammon Bundy should also release a statement that he is not feeling suicidal.

Meanwhile “town folks” booed a man asking about the Constitutional law and the sheriff had him escorted out of a meeting. Something wicked this way comes.
