Why do I keep forgetting to say “good morning from the night before” when I do my initial post? By the time I get back here, entire eons of events AND “stella’s place” good mornings have come and gone….
[BTW, the Walk for Life West Coast was GREAT. Will try to put thoughts together on it, and post later, for tomorrow.]
Morning everybody! Storm report: from 7pm to 12am about 4″ on the ground. It’s 19*, wind ENE at 5knots, wind chill 19. Zero visibility, and barometer still dropping.
Have stop for the evening, hot shower, and a cup of hot coffee by the fire. I start again around 0700. Hope all are safe, and well.
You might be able to buy them in a local supermarket too, although they will probably be labeled as “minneola”. It is actually a variety of tangelo, although they usually aren’t called that. It is a cross between a particular kind of grapefruit and a mandarin orange.
P.S.: They are available in December, January, and February. The California variety may be available later than that. The Florida fruit often looks kind of beat up, while the California looks perfect (same with the navel oranges). They are both good, but the Florida fruit has a thinner skin, and is bursting with juice.
We were watching the news and they were showing video from all over where it was snowing.

Mornin’ Michelle! IKR?? π I was just listening to de Blasio (El Bloombito he is not) tellin’ peeps in espanol not to sling hot water (agua caliente) all over their windshields. LOLOL!!
Good morning Stella. We didn’t get a lot of snow, but our driveway up the ridge is a sheet of ice. It won’t thaw today, it’s only going to be 32 degrees. It’s a coffee in bed day, at least for awhile.
Two things I saw on FB this morning that is a sign people are stupid.
The first was a post on how to naturally remove bags under your eyes, a picture with jalapeno slices over your eyes. Two different people commented and said, “Do not do this it burned my eyes.” One added they had to go to the emergency room. lol
The second post was a picture of two metal probes connected to a metal ring and said, “Volt testers for sale $19.99.”
Three people commented and asked how they work? lol
I couldn’t resist, I told them they needed to buy one and check their plugs to see if they were getting the correct voltage.
Then one of them asked if it beeped or lit up or something to let you know.
The guy who posted it said, “It will light something up.”
Finally somebody ruined all the fun and told them it was a joke, nobody was selling them and it would shock you.
They didn’t find it funny.
These showed up via my nephew, so these dummies were in the under 30 crowd. I become more convinced every single day that a large percentage of them still need their mommies to feed them.
I feel sorry for these younger folks that were raised to have a brain, they don’t have much too choose from in their age group.
Not that aren’t some good ones but it seems for every smart one there are 5 stupid ones.
So, I was reading a book that referenced another book that I can’t find yet. The one I can’t find was written during the French revolution, by a Frenchman, against the French revolution. He seems to have disappeared along with his book (of course it was written in French, so I just may not be searching for it correctly) .
Anyway, this guy supposedly writes that the whole thing originally was a plan set in motion by Fredrick the great as a way to attack the Catholic church, and France.
I don’t think that is a plausible theory for a number of reasons.
However, I do agree that the attack on Christianity started around that time. Religious morality is the linchpin of Western civilization, and the tenets of what has become known as socialism are not compatible.
Lord – what would that thing cost if you COULD find it? With all the French crap down here you might check New Orleans vintage bookstores, libraries, etc.
I just closed all the windows. Kind of , it’s title is in English. I found the Internet archive had a photo copy of the book and the French Museum had an downloadable photo copy of the original 2 books (The English translation turned it into one book).

Mornin’, Stella!
When I was in FL last month, my parents’ neighbors gave me a whole bag of honey bells.
You could sugar your coffee with them. The best orange I’ve ever eaten.
Not a trace of tartness. Just a sugar rush.
