That’s only in Flint, Michigan, and only when they were getting water from the Flint River (they aren’t, now).
My water comes from the Detroit water treatment plant, which gets water from the Detroit River. My town tests water and issues a written report to all citizens every year. We are A-OK!
I also use a filter for drinking water.

Okay, I was concerned about you when I heard the issue in a passing conversation. Thank you! I got 10lbs of carrots for the boys this morning. I’ll turn them out in a bit, after a heartily breakfast of orchard grass, oats and corn mix, then a gallon or two of water.

I rode my bike there when I was 17. Well, to the bridge, anyway, from Berrien Springs.
We stopped and camped at 5 state parks along the way, up Blue Star Hwy.

A lot of people are put off by the whole Mackinac/Mackinaw thing.
They’re interchangable. There was a weird convergence of Indian, French, and English here. So we get different spellings. Qaddafi understood. Fifty different ways to spell that guy’s name, and they all were authentic. Somehow.
Go up that way, I would suggest South Manitou Island. Or North Mantiou Island, if you’re into unnecessary things like electricity.

We haven’t had a Charles Martel caliber of leader in awhile. The world does not see the threat coming at it. I pray that people wake up and face reality, but I don’t believe enough are going to.

The authorities can be ruthless when they want. On Saturday in Cologne, police deployed 1,700 officers and used water cannon at a rally organised by anti-immigration protestors.
But craven political correctness means there is no will to show anything like the same toughness towards predatory migrants. And that is why European civilisation is in crisis.
They fact that they are denying, by their actions, protection of law to women, and the women are by and large letting them get by with it amazes me. Feminists in the world are rushing in to cathedrals bare breasted to throw things and scream at cardinals, bishops, and priests, they are ready to charge male children with sexual aggression for giving teachers presents or telling a girl she is pretty, but they stand silent in the face of Islamic rape and plunder.
I know there are protests, I know all are not silent, but given the feminist rage of the past half century, where the hell are the loud mouths who see oppression of women in every action a male from cradle to grave takes? Looks to me like they should be leading a global charge against Muslim sexual aggression.
Why do the Muslims always literally get a get out of jail free card?

I do go on a rant from time to time. Can’t help it. Okay, I could, but give in to anger. I’ve felt one coming on for awhile. I’m going to right a post about it soon. It’s about people who do that “I declare that my God will bless me today with health, wealth, happiness, and diamond jewelry” crap. Seriously, aside from the sarcasm, the fact that people refuse to see that sometimes bad things can bring about a good thing, or that bad things need to be endured with strength, dignity, and faith, or (here I go Catholic on you) that suffering can and should be offered to God as a powerful prayer, a picking up the cross voluntarily prayer.
See taqiyy, you shouldn’t get me started.

Well embarrassingly enough I thought it was the White House but it is on Mackinaw Island. I actually was on Mackinaw Island when the Cherry Blossoms were blooming but I for some reason thought this was the White House 🙄 which I’ve also been to when the Cherry Blossoms were blooming.
Time to go to bed least I humiliate myself any further :p

Morning, all. Looks like we’ve hit the high for today at 49*. Temperatures are supposed to very slowly fall to the 20s. Will be cloudy & raining, too. Guess yesterday’s 50s were just a tease.Looks like it’s going to be a good day to clean & do laundry and dream of warmer days to come.

Well, I know how annoying it can be to have me report how beautiful and sunny it is here in Florida while so many of you are freezing up the in the North. So, I am pleased to report that the sky is very grey and it has been pouring rain all morning and feels cold. (I, however, am not going to tell you that it is 68 degrees. 🙄 )

My hyacinths that were planted last fall close to the house are up about an inch. The latest snow fall has covered them. Before the temps tanked about two weeks ago some forsythias were blooming.

Terribly good article about the state of the world. I started to watch the video about Robert Ponsi but just do not have the wherewithal of soul to do so at the moment. I got to the point where they showed one of the subhuman monsters who killed him and imagined the excuses that would be made for the monster and just had to stop watching.

She’s doing fine. Staying off the net for now, and continuing to work on more “Mailboxes and Old Barns”. They always were for her sons as a history of her family, so she is writing more for them. She told me that she’s working on her marksmanship too.

I made the mistake of reading through a certain thread and I’ve decided lately that laughter is good medicine when you get hot under the collar. So I find a joke or something to make me laugh. This was the medicine I found tonight.
This is a joke, so any Alabamans who get offended then learn to take a joke, because it could be any state.
Bubba went to Alabama on a football scholarship. He was a good running back, but a poor student.
At graduation day, Bubba didn’t have enough credits. But he was a great football star and the students held a rally and demanded the dean give him a diploma anyway. They were so insistent that the dean agreed if Bubba could answer one question correctly he would give him a diploma.
The one question test was held in the auditorium and the students packed the place. It was standing room only.
The dean was on the stage and told Bubba to come up. The dean had the diploma in his hand and said, “Bubba, if you can answer this question correctly I’ll give you your diploma.” Bubba said he was ready and the dean asked him the question. “Bubba,” he said, “How much is three times seven?”
Bubba looked up at the ceiling and then down at his shoes, just pondering the question. The students began chanting, “Graduate him anyway! Graduate him anyway!”
Then Bubba held up his hand and the auditorium became silent. Bubba said, “I think I know the answer. Three times seven is twenty-one.”
A hush fell over the auditorium…and then the Alabama students began another chant. “Give him another chance! Give him another chance!”
