Greg Walden addresses U.S. House on situation in Harney County, OR, federal overreach in the West

The arrogant overreach, deliberate breaking of laws by Federal bureaucrats, is stunning.

It’s time too defund the BLM. States need too control land within their own boarders for use of resources, and management. Problem solved.

Easier said than done, unfortunately. Defunding would probably be the best step Congress could take. As Greg Walden pointed out, the government agencies (BLM, FWS etc) choose to interpret law in their own way.

They also choose to break the law. If you or I wanted someone’s property or wanted to run them off and we threatened their life we would go to jail, they not only do not go to jail they don’t even lose their job and are often promoted. If you or I went onto private land and watched and recorded land owners going about their day, we’d be at least charged with trespassing. If we conveniently showed up at school plays, grocery stores, t-ball games, we’d be charged with stalking.
They do these things among others of course that are even worse, but other things they do are in the shady area of being legal or criminal, but these acts are without a doubt criminal and they’re not brought out in the open as much as they should be.

Walden talked about the BLM burning private land with impunity.

That though is one of those shady areas that technically is legal for them to do.
Making threats on people’s live and their children’s lives is criminal. Stalking is criminal even for those with a badge or a government name tag.
The saddest part is that it’s not a deep dark secret. Heck, some of it can be found in court documents.

    Bravo! Rep. Greg Walden!

Judge Michael Hogan; I am not going to apply the mandatory minimum and because to me to do so under the 8th Amendment would result in a sentence which is grossly disproportionate to the severity of the offenses here. And with regard to the Anti Terrorism and effective death penalty act of 1996 this sort of conduct would not have been the kind of conduct intended under the statute. When you ask, you know what if you burn sage brush in the suburbs of Los Angeles there are homes up the ravine, it may apply. Out in the wilderness here I don’t think that’s what the Congress intended. And in addition it just would not meet any idea I have of justice proportionality. It would be a sentence which would shock the conscience to me.

And Bingo! The Hammond’s grazing rights are not going to be extended . Walden didn’t say it but he strongly implied it.

Nice move Rep Walden telling those POS’s that when the Black Lives Matter thugs do far worse in the cities across America, than what the arms CfCF are doing, the LSM and all the politicians wring their hands and say we have to understand what is happening and why the BLMatter people feel the way they do.

It is not to late we can do this!

From your mouth to God’s ear Rep. Walden.

I pray that Walden is right and that it is not to late.

    And a final Walden quote;

The Feds want to interpret the laws to their exclusive benefit.

Imagine the surreal experience of being told that you do not understand the intent of a law that you wrote but the Federal Goons will interrupt it correctly for you.

The world really has gone mad.

Oregon Sheriff Has First Meeting With Armed Federal Land Occupiers

    http://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/sheriff-has-first-meeting-armed-oregon-land-occupiers-n492486

Circled by an odd grouping of sheriffs from neighboring counties and journalists armed with cameras, Harney County Sheriff David Ward and Ammon Bundy, one of the occupation leaders, chatted briefly and politely at an intersection close to Malheur National Wildlife Refuge, which the activists seized Saturday.

“I’m here because the citizens of Harney County have asked me to come out and ask you folks to peacefully leave,” Ward said, offering the protesters a “safe escort” out.

But Bundy declined, saying he and his compatriots were “being ignored again.”

“The government, in order to be legitimate in these United States, must acknowledge a redress of grievances by citizens,” he said.

    ******

I don’t believe that the Harney County people do not support the CfCF I have seen only very short, very edited clips that the Harney people are not supportive of the CfCF. I believe most in Harney County support the CfCF and that the Bundy men are well aware of this support regardless of the narrative that Sheriff Ward is pushing.

The news coverage is almost entirely negative, as are blog posts about Bundy and his group. The different takes on the situation are interesting – from the fact that the refuge was once Indian territory and the evil white men dispossessed them, to the “environmentalists” who want cattle ranching removed from public lands because they “despoil” waterways and destroy natural plants. Then there is the “If they were black, they would already be dead, but since they are white rednecks, the government is giving them a pass.” point of view.

This is a bit of a mixed bag of nuts with some misinformation and some interesting information. To their credit they even recognize the Sagebrush rebellion.

I was asked to do this by the Lord’: Ammon Bundy welcomes late-arriving militia members to occupation

    https://www.rawstory.com/2016/01/i-was-asked-to-do-this-by-the-lord-ammon-bundy-welcomes-late-arriving-militia-members-to-occupation/

Some two dozen armed protesters have occupied the headquarters of the refuge since last Saturday, marking the latest incident in the so-called Sagebrush Rebellion, a decades-old conflict over federal control of land and resources in the U.S. West.

“We’re friends, but we’re operating separately,” Rapolla, a former Marine who helped defend the Bundys in 2014 in their standoff with the U.S. government at their Nevada ranch, told Reuters in an earlier interview.

The militia members are not joining the occupation, but are sleeping in their vehicles or in hotels in Burns, he said.

Rapolla said he had also taken sausage McMuffins to FBI agents who are stationed at nearby Burns Municipal Airport to monitor the occupation and had coffee with deputies from the county sheriff’s office on Thursday.

The meetings were friendly, he said, and he told them that they were there to make sure neither side escalates the dispute.

“That’s really the point of militias: it’s community involvement,” Rapolla said. “If something happens in your community, that’s what militias are for.”

I think that there are likely quite a few members of militia folks around town which give the gun toting Feds some pause.

Looks like a bunch of “open carry” folks and a bunch of “conceal carry” folks and the Feds are in a bind.

The CfCF may be taking a dangerous stand, but IMO the Feds have maliciously painted the ranchers into a corner.

One thing that is certain the LSM is painting the CfCF as gun crazy outcast militants which I don’t think is a fair or accurate portrayal.

I think this is why they quit teaching the Constitution in school. The more folks who are ignorant of the Constitution the more people who find those who fight for it crazy.

I showed my DH that video I posted and it jogged his memory of a junior high class and a disagreement between some of the students and the teacher. Some of the students started questioning why the government owned national monuments and parks that had nothing to do with forts/military bases. The teacher argued that they would be lost and come to ruin because the states couldn’t fund them, so it was to save them. The kids kept asking her to show them where it said they could do that in the Constitution and she couldn’t. So they asked her why have a Constitution if nobody follows it. He said he couldn’t remember if or what her reply to that was.
He had his memory jogged but sadly for those kids in public school over the past 30 years won’t have their memory jogged about something they never learned about or read.

And look at how the federal government has monkeyed about with our language. A monument? How bad can a monument be ? How much land do you need for a monument? Apparently thousands of acres.

On the pull down comment list all it showed was the first sentence of your comment and my thought was, “yeah now they expect us to speak Spanish.”
That’s just another pet peeve of mine, if you come here you should learn to speak and read our language. We shouldn’t have to provide anything in another language and we sure as heck shouldn’t be having our public teachers teaching you how to speak and read English.

I have a very bad feeling about the CfCF group at the Malheur National Wildlife. The FBI is allowing more people to arrive, is it a set up, are they seeing who is willing to put their life on the line to stop the the unconstitutional actions of the federal government?

Why isn’t the FBI restricting access? They did restrict access for a while, or at least told people to stay away from the area. The CfCF didn’t bring food supplies, all the feds have to do is not allow people to bring them food yet they are allowing more people to arrive and they are allowing the new arrivals to set up a perimeter.

    Something isn’t right.

Remember David Koresh was in town with just a a few men only a couple of days before the Waco siege began. This could be ended without violence if that is the desire of Obama it is looking more and more like the feds have another ending in mind.

May God have mercy on everyone involved, heart, body, mind, will and soul

Pray for all those involved. The sheriff is IMO is trying to pit the people against the CfCF and their sympathizers. If the men there are following any of the BLM or Fish and Wildlife employees around and that is a very big “If” I would assume that they are well known abusers of ranchers and the Constitution.

And this basically states “Please just call in and make spurious accusations that we can then use to go after anyone we want to go after. Heck you don’t even have to leave your name.”

    What should I report?

Unusual Activity or Situations, to include:

Vehicles observed in an odd location or at unusual times.

Unfamiliar vehicles frequently traveling through neighborhoods.

Other out of the ordinary situations for the area where you live.

Recent vandalism to vehicles property or buildings

Unfamiliar people who are asking questions a facility’s or buildings purpose, operations, or security procedures or those who are scrutinizing personnel, shift changes, or facility procedures.

What information should I try to have when I report something?

    When reporting suspicious activity, it is helpful to give the most accurate description possible, including;

    Brief description of the activity

Date, time and location of the activity

Physical identifiers of anyone you observe

Description of vehicles, including license plates

Information about where people involved in suspicious activities may have gone.

Your name and contact number (optional)

Followed up with fear mongering about stranger danger, lock your doors and even look out for people following you!

TAKE ALTERNATING ROUTES TO AND FROM YOUR RESIDENCE!!!!!

Sorry for shouting but that is how I read it.

Things are heading the way of Waco. If I see it you can bet the ranch that the folks on the ground there see it.

    Stay safe out there folks.
