Tomorrow will be our little man’s 1st birthday. It seems like yesterday I was showing all of you his ultra sound pics and now he’s already a year old. I wish I could slow down time.lol

Thanks. I still need to get his presents wrapped and go to the store to get ingredients for his punch. His mom and dad had him a John Deere cake made and got all the decorations and food, my contribution is making the punch and helping make the snacks.

Have fun with your little guy. You shouldn’t have to wait so long for grandkids! They are the funnest part of life. Now that I know how awesome it is, I might smack my boys for making me wait so long. 😉

Quite deliberately, the Bill of Rights is worded so as to shield categories and not specifics, which is why the First Amendment protects the “press” and not “ink”; why the Fourth covers “papers” and “effects” instead of listing every item that might be worn about one’s person; and why the Fifth insists broadly that one may not be deprived of “life, liberty, or property” and leaves the language there. The “right of the people” that is mentioned in the Second Amendment is not “to keep and bear guns” or “to keep and bear ammunition” but “to keep and bear arms,” which, per Black’s Law Dictionary, was understood in the 18th century to include the “musket and bayonet”; “sabre, holster pistols, and carbine”; an array of “side arms”; and any accoutrements necessary for their operation. To propose that a government could restrict access to ammunition without gutting the Second Amendment is akin to proposing that a government could ban churches without hollowing out the First. If a free people are to enjoy their liberties without encumbrance, the prerequisite tools must be let well alone.

The poor livestock haven’t fared well in all this weather. Blizzards have taken lives and the floods have taken lives.
I honestly had never thought about where the cows and horses end up until a guy who works for the dam authority told me his job the past few days has been to keep an eye on the dam and how weird it is to see cows and horses go whizzing by.
An old man that lives out my way lost 140 head of 500 to 600 lb calves. That’s a big chunk of change washed away.

An old friend of mine called me an old fuddy duddy because I didn’t want to go to a New Years Eve Party. Maybe I am, because I was thinking I’m not sure I can even stay awake long enough to see the New Year come in, much less have to ride home after midnight with all the drunks on the highways.

I honestly don’t even remember the last time I went to a New Years Eve party. It’s been at least 30 years ago.
I was tired last night and was asleep long before midnight. I guess the world didn’t end while I slept. Everything was normal this morning, cold and hungry animals.lol
I could be rude and call wake her up this morning and tell her if she feels so young then she should be able to snap right up after a night of partying.

I called my sister to see what time she was heading my way and she was still asleep, informed me it was New Years and normal people stay up late and sleep late. I told her that I never claimed to be normal and I think all the old folks have gone plum crazy or have found a fountain of youth somewhere.
