If Trump Is Nominated, ‘We’ll Have to Start’ a New Party

trumpcloseThat’s right. After forcing Trump to sign an agreement that he wouldn’t run as a third party candidate – and asking him to confirm it – there is word out there that the Republicans may form a third party to run against Trump if he is chosen as the nominee.

Reported by Ben Shapiro at The Daily Wire:

I’m old enough to remember when Donald Trump’s refusal to declare a third-party run off-limits was enough to make him the enemy of the Republican establishment.

Now, many of those same figures are openly preparing to elect Hillary Clinton if Trump wins the nomination. Here, for example, is Weekly Standard editor-in-chief Bill Kristol this morning:

Kristol

My favorite Twitter suggestion:  “Sore Losers”.  Other suggestions:  “Weak T Party”, We Reaped What We Sowed”, “Low T Party”, “Butt Hurt Geezers”, “Old Ankle Grabbers”.

And yesterday, Politico ran a story suggesting that the Republicans might create their own third party if Trump ran. Jeff Greenfield wrote:

[I]f the operatives I talked with are right, Trump running as a Republican could well face a third-party run—from the Republicans themselves….If you want to see the most sulfurous assaults on Trump, don’t look to the editorial pages of the New York Times or the comments of MSNBC personalities; look instead to the most prominent media voices in the conservative world: National Review, The Weekly Standard, Commentary and the columns of George Will and others ….

At the very least, the movement to bolt the Party would be an ironic one, given the Republican Party leadership’s insistence that Tea Partiers step behind moderate candidates like John McCain and Mitt Romney in order to deny Barack Obama the White House. Those leaders tossed around supposed conservative disloyalty as an epithet.

Today, however, they’re preparing to leave if Trump wins the nomination.

Which, of course, is why Trump is winning. Which may force that inevitable break.

It’s certainly an interesting election season. I wonder who the “new” party would choose as their nominee?  Another entry as the “new” party name?  The Pity Party.

LOL. Another reason to be thankful for Trump is he forces the ruling class to go 3rd party.

I Hope the Political Class, ruling party does go 3rd party. It’s one of two choices to make, the other is jail, as Trump’s DOJ prosecutors jail them all for Treason!!!

I wonder if they will really do it? The RNC and GOP are so out of touch with reality, they are so pathological in their belief that they are the good guys (rather than traitors and thieves) that while I would be surprised to see them start a third party I would’t be shocked.

They are corrupt, they are self interested, they hate their constituents, they are our Founding Fathers worst nightmare yet I still wonder does a fish know that it is wet?

No, I disagree. I don’t believe they think that way at all. I’ve talked to some of the republican leadership in my state before. It’s their career and you’re just an uneducated idiot that’s in their way if you question their self interest and greed.

I agree that they know that they are corrupt I just happen to believe that they have made their evil ways acceptable to themselves by warped thinking. Paul Ryan said something along the line that he had to go against his moral code in order to honor his moral code.

Then again every dirty deed they do they try hide in the darkness before it comes to light so I am probably showing them too much kindness when I think that they are unaware of how truly evil they are.

    Shocking !

Polls may actually underestimate Trump’s support, study finds

    http://www.latimes.com/politics/la-na-trump-polls-20151221-story.html

Donald Trump leads the GOP presidential field in polls of Republican voters nationally and in most early-voting states, but some surveys may actually be understating his support, a new study suggests.

“….less likely to say that they support him when they’re talking to a live human” than when they are in the “anonymous environment” of an online survey, …”

Duh! It’s not politically correct to support Trump. Of course the anonymous aspect of on-line is not understood by people taking the surveys. It’s not really anonymous.
