[Don’t ask why the partial-French phraseology. There’s no real reason except that I like to mix things up a bit.]

LMAO,Mary. That’s the sweetest sounding thing I’ve ever been called.
Then again, you could read the French instruction manual of operations for a garbage truck, and it would sound sweet.
11:58 am is pretty much the Haut de la matinée. Yeah, I keep odd hours.

Tex made me do it, sir! Yes, indeed, and it might be a two slab day. I think I need smoked bacon on my salad instead of turkey.

Some guy at a gas station/convenience store said that Musloid greeting to me a couple of years ago when I said “hey how you doin’ today?” like I tend to do with most people I meet.
I do not have a quick wit. That’s probably a good thing.
20 minutes later I thought, “I should have responded with, ‘Shalom'”
I really should have. It didn’t cross my mind until the event was gone.

Good morning.
Pig finished delivering the bacon, so I’ll have my two bacons.
She either has to go to the sale or in the freezer. Her litters are just too small to warrant keeping her around. We have a golden rule around here, you can stay if you’re a good mom, don’t go crazy and want to eat us, have at least 6 piglets as a gilt and at least 8 as a sow. She made the cut until this litter. She had 7 as a gilt and only 6 this time.
We get to do the fun things this afternoon; ear notching, clip eye teeth, oral iron. We’ll check at that time how many gilts and boars and then in about 3 or 4 weeks we’ll finish the fun jobs and turn the boars into barrows.

I have repeatedly hinted to my husband that I want a little smoke house built. He grew up with one, I don’t know why he won’t build me one. I got the plans for one, in case he didn’t remember, but of course he knew all about the firebox, etc. Now I just have to convince him I need that smokehouse.
The man will build anything you want with steel, metal, or iron, but he sure balks at wood.

Mornin’, meet any frying pans this morning?
LikeLiked by 4 people
No. However I’ve noticed a lead crystal bowl that normally holds about a pound of roasted mixed nuts is missing from the dinning room table. I will assume moths carried it away and will return it once empty. I only assume this since the lid was left on the table.
Getting back to your question, if I were to even jokingly imply some party other than the moths could have been in any way involved, then quite possibly there could be a very quick escalation of hostilities to the point frying pans are involved.

I know this may be a bit presumptuous, but could you also consider putting on a pot of water for tea? Not in place of, mind you. Just in addition to…?

With all due respect, that is presumptuous, and as I am one of the few people in the great state of Texas who doesn’t drink tea, hot or cold, so I would graciously ask you to be a dear and host the tea time. 😉

Well, it’s just as well that I didn’t buy a new stove yet. The washing machine just crapped out (the spin cycle anyway). I guess I shouldn’t be surprised – it’s old and came through the basement flood last year.
LikeLiked by 4 people
THAT might actually only be a belt – been there on that a few times, too. 🙄 Merry Christmas, Stella. 😦
LikeLiked by 3 people
Probably is. But here’s the thing – do I pay someone to fix it (I’m not doing it), or do I buy a new washer? It’s old. I could even buy a reconditioned washer at the local used appliance store. As it is, I hand wrung the clothes and threw them in the dryer. The pump-out works.
LikeLiked by 3 people
The belt isn’t much – call the repairman. If it’s something really expensive, he’ll tell you and you can go from there. 😦
LikeLiked by 2 people
With my experience of a new washer, I’ll never buy new again. If it was me I’d fix it if it can be fixed. Most repairmen you can call them and tell them brand and model number and what it’s doing and they can give you an estimate of worst case scenario.
I don’t know about your area but around here old washers are fairly easy to find through CL, FB online garage sales groups, newspaper classifieds, etc.
I’d avoid new unless you’re left with no choice.
LikeLiked by 3 people
Do you have a friend for this kind of thing? My washer stopped doing anything but filling with water and it turned out that the little pokey thing that should depress something when you close the door had come dislodged. Anyhow my handyman friend came over and figured it out right away. Sometimes it is an easy fix for people who like to do this kind of stuff.
If it is a belt then that shouldn’t be hard to fix and the washer might last a good while longer. My mom had a 25 year old working washing machine when they finally sold their house with appliances included.

No, I don’t have a handy friend, but I do have the number of a good appliance repair company. That should do it!

Actually, for me it’s mid-afternoon. Still feeling beyond rotten. Its not getting betterer. I have a half-dozen posts pending that I can’t even summon the energy to edit and spell check. At least today I shuffled down the sun room and pathetically propped myself up on the lounger, where I could continue to feel sorry for myself in the sun, surrounding by a mountain of tissues and empty gingerale bottles while watching nonsensical garbage on teh U-Tube.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott – Says “Texas will not sit idle in the face of this challenge,” Abbott said. “We will not be victimized as a state by a federal government’s apathetic response to border security.”
Texas Extends National Guard Deployment Due To Spike in Unaccompanied Minors At Mexico Border
Republican Texas Gov. Greg Abbott on Tuesday extended the deployment of National Guard troops at the Mexico border due to a spike in the number of unaccompanied minors entering the country.
The order comes in the wake of U.S. Border Patrol figures that show more than 10,000 unaccompanied children crossed into the U.S. in October and November. That is double the number of crossings in the same two months last year.
The uptick has already prompted Border Patrol to open two shelters in Texas and one in California.
“Texas will not sit idle in the face of this challenge,” Abbott said. “We will not be victimized as a state by a federal government’s apathetic response to border security.”
