Good morning and Happy Sunday. Off to Mass, and maybe we’ll come home to an aebleskiver breakfast, and more Christmas decorating. I have spent the weekend with preschoolers who are very excited about Christmas. It’s such fun to watch the wonder and awe of a child at Christmas.

Morning Ms. WeeWeed, very chilly start, 28* with an ice fog covering everything. The fog is burning off, with winds from the SSW. Was up early as the 4 legged deer where running in order to keep warm.
Great cartoon, need some range time, later on this week.

Hey, was watching America’s Test Kitchen, and apparently to get the perfect soft boiled egg, the trick is to fill the pan with 1/2″ of water, cover, bring to a boil and STEAM the eggs for 6 mins. The steam is a more consistent heat. Who knew?? !!

According to Martha, cover eggs with cold water, bring to a boil, immediately turn off the heat, let stand covered for five minutes.
ADD: Oops! That’s for hard boiled.

Lol. That’s okay. I’m not a soft boiled fan anyways. Don’t like the texture of a soft yolk, even though I’m aware that my betters inform me that’s the “right” way to enjoy a boiled egg (soft/runny yolk).

Liked soft-boiled as a kid. Toast cut into strips so that you can dunk it in the egg. Also, cute egg cups.

No cows, just my neighbor’s horses. Cows coming in around March or so. Yeah, they receive one bucket p/day oats/molasses mix (hides the medication) all get to chew on an Round bale of orchard grass out in the quarter pen. Also have a couple of buckets of apples, so the horses will self fertilize their grazing field.

My Dad was 24, two years after he graduated from college when he “jump” into Normandy. His brother, was already fighting in Burma, Uncle Hugh was 19.
I was 18 and 7 months when those AK rounds were busting around my head.

I’ve always wondered why if, according to the schools, Christmas doesn’t exist, why close the campus the week of December 25? Surely there is no greater example of “non-inclusiveness” than closing the school for Christmas, but not Eid, or any other religious holiday.
This is something I have wondered aloud for years now.

stella, are you paying for the “no advertising” plugin? I just notice how much faster your blog is compared to TCH, and then noticed a lack of things I tune out. My browser hangs often over at CTH since I have almost all scripting disabled.

I’m not part of the WordAds program, which means I get no income from this blog. Sundance does get income, via ads, from CTH. I suggest you use an ad blocker over there. Don’t get me wrong, I would like to get ad revenue, but I don’t have the traffic yet to qualify.

I’m getting fewer than 1,000 views a day, while TCH gets an average of
60,00070,000 or more. Traffic has increased a great deal the past year at TCH.ADD: His views/visits ratio is much better than mine too.

My cat pulled the tablecloth completely off the dining room table the other day. It was left on after Thanksgiving. Fortunately there was nothing on the table other than the cloth. I have had vases broken in the past, so I learned my lesson.

Full disclosure BHO’s first sentence was only two words. No, no, no, not “Allah Akbar” just a the more benign “Good evening.”
