Jobs at McDonald’s in Europe won’t be plentiful, it seems, as the corporation will be installing touchscreen ordering kiosks in 7,000 of its European restaurants.
From a business perspective, this is a very good decision. Transaction times are improved, there are fewer order errors, and cash transactions are reduced, since the kiosks accept only debit and credit cards. A side benefit is the ability to easily track their customers preferences.
If McDonald’s employees continue to push for higher wages, we may see a rapid proliferation of automated ordering here in the United States.

Bet it doesn’t improve the food.

Totally agree!

There is no machine that can solve that problem. But there is a good chance that your order will be correct. 😉

The unintended consequences of demanding more money for a person’s labor than the labor is worth. More minimum wage jobs will be replaced by technological advances sooner rather than later especially with the numbskulls demanding $15.00 an hour to insult people and serve them meat byproducts.

This has been proven over and over since the minimum wage was implemented.
