LIVE: Senate to vote on motion to advance Kash Patel for FBI chief

And the Dems are still trying to get him eliminated!

President Trump’s pick for FBI chief is a step closer to confirmation following a Senate Confirmation Approval. The nomination was approved by the Senate Judiciary Committee in a 12-10 party line vote.

According to Senator Markwayne Mullin, at 5:30 PM ET, the Senate will vote on a motion to proceed to executive session for Kash Patel.

If moved forward, republicans will file cloture to put him on the clock. Patel could be confirmed by Thursday.

Delta Airlines Plane Crashes in Toronto

Fortunately all aboard are alive. Eight persons were injured and taken to local hospitals.

The flight originated in Minneapolis. The plane ended upside down. It will be interesting to know what happened.

Judge Chutkan seems unwilling to issue an SRO against Trump and Musk

U.S. District Judge Tanya Chutkan on Monday appeared poised to reject an effort to immediately bar Elon Musk and his allies from accessing data or causing firings across a broad swath of the federal government.

The judge said an effort by Democrat-led states lacked enough concrete evidence to justify that extraordinary restriction.

But the judge said granting the temporary restraining order sought as part of a lawsuit brought by Democratic attorneys general required much clearer evidence that DOGE’s actions were causing grave, permanent damage. Instead, she said, states had relied primarily on news reports that speculated about the risks of Musk and DOGE’s actions, some of which she said could potentially be remedied in further litigation.
