I don’t know if you have noticed the Boomer bashing lately on social media, but I’m already tired of it, particularly because what is being said about “the good old day” of the the 1950’s, 1960’s and 1970’s is just plain not true.

John Stossel has the facts:

Nostalgic memes spread misleading messages, like: “Once, families could own a home & send their kids to college on one income.” But the homes were smaller. Most kids didn’t go to college. The memes ignore facts.

I don’t know about you, but we always lived in a small house or apartment, no air conditioning, one bathroom, one car. I did rent an apartment for a while in the 1980’s that had a half bath and A/C, but the A/C was broken about half of the time.

Just saw some guy on X say that there aren’t any small “starter” houses available now. Heck, I still live in one!
