   Good mornin’, and happy Hump Day! Halfway to Friday already! On my quest to find another different pot, this hand-painted beauty comes from Japan. But it is listed as a coffee pot and not a teapot. Keep your head on a swivel and carpe’ your coffee.

   After I posted the pot above, this question came to me – what’s the difference between ceramic and porcelain? As we know, the interwebz knows everything, and I don’t –

   • Porcelain is made from refined clay, often mixed with kaolin, and fired at temperatures exceeding 2,200°F. This process creates a denser and more durable material that is less porous and more water-resistant.
   • Ceramic, on the other hand, is typically made from a mixture of clay, sand, and other natural materials, and is fired at lower temperatures (around 1,800°F to 2,100°F). This results in a softer, more porous material that is generally less durable than porcelain.

   Now you know. 😉
