Paxton plays chess!

JUST THE NEWS

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton on Thursday offered to drop his primary challenge to Sen. John Cornyn, R-Texas, if he would commit to passing the SAVE America Act via the talking filibuster.

Paxton and Cornyn advanced to a runoff election on Tuesday and President Donald Trump has signaled he plans to endorse one candidate and ask the other to leave the race to avoid a grueling primary. Paxton already indicated he would not drop out merely at Trump’s request.

“The Save America Act is the most important bill the U.S. Senate could ever pass, and I’m committed to helping President Trump get it done,” Paxton said.

I would consider dropping out of this race if Senate Leadership agrees to lift the filibuster and passes the SAVE America Act.”
