    National Pork Rind Day – enjoy these but they are probably terrible for you

    National Kite Flying Day – used to make our own out of newspaper

    National Boy Scouts’ Day – I thought Boy Scouts were obsolete, now just scouts

    National Iowa Day – my father’s grandparents were from Iowa before his dad moved to Oklahoma. I know this because I have a photograph of the family taken by a studio in Des Moines.

      Morning czarina! A little bit of pork rinds go a long way. People on keto diet use it to replace breadcrumbs in some recipes (think meatloaf).

      ADD:

      Popular keto uses:

      Crumbled as a breading for chicken, fish, or vegetables.
      Used as a crunchy topping for salads, soups, or casseroles.
      Made into keto pizza crusts or pork rind nachos.
      Enjoyed as a sweet treat when coated with sugar-free cinnamon (e.g., keto cinnamon sugar pork rinds).

        I don’t like pork rinds, but I do find them a tasty replacement for bread crumbs when I’m doing low carb stuff. As much as I love to bake bread, I am increasingly convinced that it’s bad for you.

      Good day, Czarina! Never flew a kite, visited Iowa, or dated a Boy Scout (even when they weren’t WOKE-run and promoting) but did used to eat pork rinds…

    Anyone else having snacks and treats today while not watching the Pervert Bowl? We’re having smoked wings, and glazed Mississippi Sin ham rolls. Whatever else strikes me, probably some cheese spread and stuff. No reason to miss the fun just because I’m not watching the game. I wish they would bomb in ratings for the whole bowl. Seems to me just skipping th half time show does nothing. They still get the ratings.

      I haven’t watched the Super Bowl for years, but I’m not a football fan. Just a usual Sunday for me, and leftover chili for dinner.

        We all love football. Our youngest son and his family (Conner’s dad) used to come over and my husband and he primarily cooked the meal. Usually it was a leftover Christmas turkey they deep fried, along with some vegetables. Obviously we don’t do that anymore.

        I don’t know if this is true with other families or not, but the Super Bowl has gone from a family friendly evening of fun for us to we wouldn’t watch it for anything. Happened over the course of the last years, not only because of the crappy and offensive half time shows, but the woke commercials as well.

        When I want the NFL to lead and advise and influence me in moral choices, I’ll notify them.
