This Ancient Snow Stove Doesn’t Melt

Footage: @WoodsboundOutdoors This ancient snow stove technique allowed people to cook, boil water, and survive in some of the coldest environments on Earth. By using snow, air flow, and fire, this simple design turns freezing ground into a powerful heat source. It’s a survival method that made life possible in places where fire shouldn’t even work.

Good mornin’, and happy Monday, all! We should all be rested up for the first Monday workday of the year, but it was a bit of a busy weekend, it seems. As the new year begins, it’s often a time of looking back, and our coffee pot does just that. An Art Deco design, this is rather unique looking. Keep your head on a swivel and carpe’ your coffee!

Well, what do ya know? Tampon Tim will NOT seek a 3rd term. Now is when they really need to go after him. His party will gladly throw him under the bus since he’s of no use to them now.

I just posted this too. Didn’t see your comment! He’s not very smart, so I don’t think the Dems will miss him much. In fact, he is probably getting out of the way for somebody smarter in the party (Klobuchar?), with a little push.

        Good evening, all.

Looks like a subdued group this morning but those two, well they are classic. (And Lucy is extremely well dressed for Monday morning coffee.)

Maybe they knew we would be dropping by?

I’ll take National Screenwriters’ Day…how about THE BIRDS? The story was by Daphne du Maurier and the screenplay by Evan Hunter….

However, my choice for the best screenplay is CASABLANCA. A copy of that screenplay was published in book form in 1973 as a book club edition (remember those?). One time when watching the film I got out my copy and checked off every line, making a few changes re what ended up on the screen as opposed to the written script. I have no idea how many times I’ve seen it, probably well over 50 after it came out on VHS.

Just read this on X. Don’t know if it’s true, but I don’t doubt it. People need to let Tucker, Megan, and most abysmal person on the internet right now, Crazy Candace, reap the irrelevance they deserve by just not engaging with them, or supporting them.

Tucker Carlson believes it’s a “distinct possibility” that the U.S. captured Maduro to *checks notes* “bring gay marriage to Venezuela.”

How Snatching Maduro Screws Up Everyone Else’s Plans – Lemme Count the Ways

    By Beege Welborn – 11:20 AM | January 05, 2026

This has been quite the cool weekend, no? Blew my Saturday morning all to bits after I woke up to John’s early morning post about the invasion, and Ed’s ‘We got him’ follow-up. The next couple of hours were busy as the unbelievable events of the past 24 hours unfolded, and we started getting the scoop on the raid in the capital city of Venezuela that had gone down damn near flawlessly.

As the press conference wrapped up, I had already started wondering what the ripples – or maybe it would be even a tsunami – of aftereffects flowing from yanking this one guy out of his chair would do around the world.

This is long, and somewhat difficult to grasp for those of us who don’t have any military background. But you can grasp it, and wow, is it full of good stuff. I sure do wish I had some military buddies I could listen to discussing this.

I took the time and effort to read it closely. This man has produced a detailed but comprehensible view of what US Department of War is capable of. and what Russia is not.

That was a very interesting article. Here’s my take – Russia is in trouble now, as everyone they sold their radar systems to knows they don’t work against the big dog in the neighborhood.

Here’s two articles re Victor Davis Hanson….

    1. Joseph Fosco 2d.

    Dear friends,

As a further update to my previous piece on Victor Davis Hanson – one of the most brilliant minds of our time, whose insights have shaped my views – I’m grateful for his wisdom.

He remains in recovery from major surgery on December 30, 2025, following a nine-month health ordeal, with ongoing post-operative procedures and tests. The surgery’s success is still not determined. According to sources close to him, Hanson is aware of and moved by the widespread support and prayers. Please continue lifting him up in prayer. 🙏

    With hope,

    Joseph Fosco
