That’s the most appealing photo of the rebuilt Notre Dame Cathedral. It’s still somewhat disconcerting to see the clean stone, instead of the aged version.

Good mornin’, and happy Monday, and as noted, the last Monday of the year. I found this chrome-plated beauty which is listed as a cofee/espresso maker from the 30’s or 40’s. Something different, since half of us aren’t quite sure what day it even is! Keep your head on a swivel and carpe’ your coffee.

National Pepper Pot Day – Pepper pot soup is a highly seasoned soup prepared with peppercorns, small bits of meat, tripe, vegetables, and broth. The dish may be more familiar by the name of Philadelphia Pepper Pot because it was brought to the area by people from Africa, the West Indies, and the Caribbean. Colonial Black women served the dish in their homes, the homes where they worked, and in markets. It’s considered an early street food by many historians.

Good day, Czarina! If the National Tic Tok Day has anything to do with the social media giant, then NOPE. If it’s specifically for cleaning up your projects before the stroke of midnight New Year’s Eve/Day, then it’s a YES! National Pepper Pot Day gets the same negative evaluation since eating it would likely cause such indigestion I’d be history.
So, what happened today in history? At one point, the Brits were trying to eliminate U.S. cities. 1) 1778: they occupied Savannah, Georgia; 2) Brits burn Buffalo, New York in the War of 1812. Their present government under reckless and idiotic socialist Starmer isn’t much friendlier in 2025.
