BEAUTIFUL SCENERY – Chris Rea – “Driving Home For Christmas” 2024 Berg zu Tal (“Mountain to Valley”), Germany – (15:42 minute Loop)
I’m driving home for Christmas
Oh, I can’t wait to see those faces
I’m driving home for Christmas
Yeah
Well, I’m moving down that line
And it’s been so long
But I will be there
I sing this song
To pass the time away
Driving in my car
Driving home for Christmas
It’s gonna take some time
But I’ll get there
Top to toe in tailbacks
Oh, I got red lights all around
But soon there’ll be a freeway
Yeah
Get my feet on holy ground
So, I sing for you
Though you can’t hear me
When I get through
And feel you near me
Driving in my car
I’m driving home for Christmas
Driving home for Christmas
With a thousand memories
I take a look at the driver next to me
He’s just the same
Just the same

Morning all. I brought pastries for us this morning. These are the zero calorie ones. I recommend a big plop of butter, right in the center.

Those look mighty tasty, thank you!

I bet they are. They actually look fairly simple to do, and are one my list of things to try! I just forget the name of them, but I think it’s something you get at Jewish bakeries.

Hey Wee! I actually had to cook a little bit yesterday for a party. It kickstarted my desire to bake!

Good mornin’, Menage! Those look mighty tasty, and I will drop a dollop of real butter on the top for sure. Since Mrs. T bakes bread, I find those fascinating. She doesn’t do a lot of fancy, but that seems like just the challenge for her. Coffee’s ready, ma’am.

I’ll see if I can find the recipe T. Usually those twisty things look really fancy and hard, but they’re not. I think this one is the same. Good morning T!

Here are two recipes. The first is one in the picture, but it’s a sourdough recipe. If she doesn’t do sourdough, she could increase flour and liquid by an equal proportion to the total measurement of the sourdough. I think it’s 1/2 cup, so 1/2 of each, and use yeast instead. Second one is without sourdough, so I included it, but I think the first one would be the recipe I’d choose.

P. S. Tell her to look at babka recipes also. It’s a loaf, but I think it’s the inspiration for these.

Uh oh, big mistake. If it’s 1/2 total, of course 1/4 cup each!!!

That’s the Christmas movie I chose to watch last year. I finally, after decades, had to have a break from White Christmas. This year I’m going to see if I can find Charlie Brown, and of course, my old favorite “You’ll shoot your eye out kid.” Probably do that today. Last year I couldn’t find anywhere to watch Charlie Brown. I also love the original Grinch cartoon.
I’m actually looking at articles and posts featuring Christmas movies and shows. I’m in the mood this year, maybe because I’ve been kind of inactive for a bit.

National Unity Day – Unity is a sense of respect, togetherness and a shared purpose among a group of individuals. It’s the feeling of being part of something larger than yourself, where the well-being of a group with a variety of backgrounds, beliefs, and experiences, come together for a common good. It’s about finding strength in diversity, not erasing it. In a world that often emphasizes our differences, National Unity Day aims to remind us of the powerful bonds that connect us all.
National Guard Birthday
National Violin Day – I prefer the viola, less screechy
National Day of the Horse
National Pick a Pathologist Day – as a speech pathologist, I recommend that one
National Cocoa Day – easy this time of year, unless you already used up all the ingredients yesterday

Good mornin’, and happy Saturday, kids! I’m here. Moving slow this morning, but some things must be done. Here’s a bright and shiny coffee pot that you would be glad to toss on any campfire. Keep your head on a swivel and carpe’ your coffee.

Mornin’ All. It is almost 45* here today and may get up to 50*. No more rain for a while and no snow.
Now that my grandson has started talking, he is chattering away. The other day he was singing a song. It goes like this, “Do do do dooooo, do do dodo do, do dodo.” By the way, Dodo is what he calls his favorite stuffed raccoon. And, there actually was a tune to the song. LOL
Well, hope you have all your Christmas shopping done and enjoy the day.
