Mornin’ Tex! Nothing better than a hot cup of black coffee and a roaring fire to warm up to on a cold morning, thank you!

Good mornin’, and happy Saturday! Nothing like a big fire and some good coffee to start the day. Keep your head on a swivel and carpe’ your coffee!

Good mornin’, Miss Wee! However far you jingle, just know that the coffee’s ready, ma’am.

Thanks T, how about some pancakes to go with that? Today we feature some of my sourdough pecan pancakes with real maple syrup. Not pictured, thick cut bacon and eggs, scrambled with cheese. You want over easy this morning, that’s on you! I just filled my mug and I’m now on drinking duty! Good morning.

Good mornin’, Menage! Pancakes and some eggs sound like a blue-ribbon breakfast. Just hold the pecans. Those are for pie! On my way to save some more people this morning. Less than 48 hours!

We’ll hold a place for you at the table, T, in spite of your scandalous opinion on pecans. Hope you get a well deserved rest soon, sir!

Pecans belong in pie! Not on pancakes! I’ll eat pecan pie til it comes out my ears!! 😉

Oh T! You come to my house and at any given time during the holidays, except this year, you’ll find an array of cookies featuring pecans, most notably my sea salted sourdough chocolate chunk cookies, my chocolate buttersweets which feature a cream cheese filling with nuts, topped with hard dark chocolate (these are the cookies my sons commit outright theft and fraud over), apple muffins with pecans, cranberry pecan bread, sweet potato casserole with a pecan crunch topping, nuts and bolts, and a cheese ball rolled in finely chopped pecans. Now, I’ve left out stuff too! Oh yeah, most important one, also worthy of battle, derby pie!
I like my pecans! And I’m with you on a good pecan pie, but it’s got to be good, not one of those where pecans sit on top of a gummy sugary base, but a truly creamy, caramel like filling worthy of the pecans!

Menage……I just gained 11 pounds reading about those goodies! I’m blessed to live with someone like you who loves to cook AND bake and she’s pretty good at it, as you could tell by looking at me!

You are a fortunate man! I’m sure she loves to bake for you as much as I do for my own guys!

It took me a minute to find her and a thinning of the herd…but I know that I’m lucky….and blessed.

I don’t necessarily disagree with the thesis here. While there may still be a few “good” dems, those in power have one thing in mind. More power.

Also, how about those lectures that came with the belt? Featuring such motivating peppy phrases as “You want something to cry about? I’ll give you something to cry about!” Or my father in law’s go-to, “Boy, I brought you into this world, I can take you out!”

I know everyone thinks of kids putting out shoes, or St. Nicholas leaving bags of gold as dowries for poor women, but this one, not very Christmassy, is my favorite.
“St. Nicholas punching Arius” refers to a popular legend from the Council of Nicaea (325 AD) where St. Nicholas, enraged by the heretic Arius‘s denial of Christ’s divinity, allegedly struck him in the face, though historians largely consider it a myth originating centuries later to highlight Nicholas’s zeal. While medieval accounts describe him slapping an “Arian,” the tale wasn’t recorded until about 1,000 years after his death and lacks historical basis, though it became a powerful symbol of Orthodox fervor.

I have to admit that I’ve been to a family Christmas party that devoled into a fistfight. It weren’t me, but I was there. 😦

That about the mittens is very interesting.
My husband’s relatives sent my son a pair of mittens as a joke when he was about 2 or 3. I never could make him understand what they were for. We lived in San Diego and his hands never got cold. LOL

Mornin’ All. Another snowy day here. It isn’t actually snowing, it is more like raining but cold. It is over 35* now and the snow is sliding off the roof to make piles behind the cars in the carport. A sweet neighbor cleared off behind my car when she did hers. I am so grateful. I wasn’t sure I could do it. And, the rain is supposed to keep up for a couple of days. It is just a light rain and isn’t too annoying.
Hope your weather is tolerable and you are safe and warm.
