Good mornin’, and happy Tuesday! Another day of winning is done and watching our liberal friends freaking out requires much nourishment. My neighbors to the south have offered up a trio of pots this morning. Keep your head on a swivel and carpe’ your coffee!

It appears that Germany is circling the drain even faster than the UK, but I think it’s ok since their main import has been souls from 3rd world crapholes who don’t really need electricity or other modern conveniences.

Good morning, Tex, Ernnburn, Menagerie and Wee,

“Coffee, Tacos and Bagpipes.” Just another way of saying “Stella’s Place”.

Better than a box of Tom Hank’s chocolates. And absolutely fun.

    And this new scientific discovery:

    Have a good day everyone!

Someone I know posted this on Facebook yesterday. I have thoughts.

Agee completely with the first two. As for number three, okay, but don’t ask me to babysit. Number four is nuanced. My grandchildren absolutely know that we would immediately let their parents know if something dangerous was going on. But often children will pour their hearts and confide things they need help with to a trusted adult in their life. My husband is that person for many children, not just our grandkids. He’s been able to comfort, reassure, guide, and teach many a child through some things they simply wouldn’t open up about to others. Maybe they’re afraid of disappointing or hurting their parents. I say don’t let your ego and inexperience as a young parent keep your kids from any help available. Most adults know the line to draw.

Okay on five, unless you’re not there. If kids are spending the night with me, unless they have food allergies or special needs, don’t expect me to cater to your idea of whatever. Or send food. Also, a rule I have because yeah, this applies. If you have three kids who absolutely won’t eat normally and won’t eat the same thing, then that means nine meals a day. I’m not doing that for any length of time, so no, you can’t ask me to babysit for a lengthy parental getaway.

Number six. Define respect. This sounds like your idea of bargaining for leverage with your kids, using them to make whomever submit. Depends. If you’ve got a family member or maybe crazy ex-in laws who upset your child with horrible things, by all means, it’s reasonable to keep them away.

The point I made was that I could not teach my grandson without discipline. And I’m proud of that. I’m proud that I’ve been able to provide not only an environment where he can learn and thrive, but an environment where he has learned that he can have control, he can manage his emotions, he can do hard things. As much as I love him, as important as that is, I feel like my discipline has been just as big a contribution to his life.

Furthermore, it’s not just a situation like that. Any adult who teaches your children control, respect, and self confidence, which discipline absolutely provides, is doing you a favor.

That’s why your grandson will do well, when others without that guidance, will not.

To say that it is a labor of love to do what you both do, is an understatement.

And every child that is allowed such instruction benefits.

      Make that 7 likes.

With all due respect to whomever put that list together, I’ll bet they’re a lot of fun at parties……. BTW, if we have a food issue, there is a distinct possibility that ice cream could be served for a meal if I’m cooking. 😉

Mornin’ All. Really chilly here so far. The sun is trying to come out from behind the clouds. It didn’t peek out around the mountains until after 8:00 this morning.

Hope you all have a great day.
