Hope your day is nice.

And, THIS is why President Trump and his people are always on TV explaining what they are doing and why. I have seen a lot of complaints from some commenters next door about that and I figure they just don’t understand or are just wanting to cause trouble.

Good morning czarina! I’ll take some sausage, please. Did you know that Casimir Pulaski Day is an official holiday in Illinois? It’s the first Monday in March. His birthday is March 6. There is a very large Polish population in Chicago (said to be the largest outside of Poland).

Good day, Czarina! I hope a whole bunch of people have heard of General Pulaski (the father of the American Cavalry). Unfortunately I never have. He’s worthy to have a day to celebrate his achievements…

If I had some, I’d honor him by eating Polish sausage for lunch…

I’m a bit behind the day curve, but in relation to National Blue Cheese Day, I submit the following:

Good morning all y’all!
My husband is reading a book called Biscuits, Butter, and Blessings, given to him by his best friend. I find it charming that two big, tough old guys will read and enjoy a book like this, but, back to the point.
From the book: “The devil knows your name, but calls you by your sin. God knows your sins, but calls you by name.” Good to reflect on.

Mornin’ Tex! I’m staying with my current insurer (Blue Cross/Blue Shield), but my premium is going up this year after several years on a downward trend. Not too much though.

Lots of changes in the general marketplace. Isn’t your program through your employer? Send your orphaned friends my way. I’m licensed in 24 states and DC! 😉

No, I buy Medicare Advantage myself. I lost employer coverage when I retired. My premium is quite reasonable, I think, considering the coverage. There are also some changes in coverage, but I don’t think they will be too bad. I got my “Notice of Change” and am trying to absorb it.

As you probably know, BCBS is a major provider in Michigan because of the auto industry.

I worked for the holding company out of Chicago that owned BCBS – IL, TX, OK, NM, and MT. I just saw where MI is laying off people as are many carriers around the country right now. There have been numerous changes this year, but a few have been minor. People don’t understand that a lot of plans literally vary county by county. One carrier I use in IN pulled out completely in some places, and clients in the next county over were basically unaffected. Crazy stuff. But the adage applies……if you like your plan, it’s a lot esier to let it ride for another year. Good for you.

My daughter works for BCBS National in Chicago. I’m not sure I understand what that means! I do know that premium amounts vary by the area you live in Michigan. Mine is Region 6, which is the Detroit metro area. I have a PPO plan. It looks like the changes will mostly be with drug coverage, but I don’t think it will affect me much, because all but one of my drugs are in tier one preferred with no copay.

It’s likely either National Accounts for BCBSIL, or the BCBS Association who does a lot of work for the individual plans across the Country. For those who’s meds are Tier 1 or Tier 2, these changes are hardly noticable. The biggest impact is for the standalone Rx plans that people buy when they have a supplement plan. I’m seeing several carriers bumping those premiums up by literally $50/month. They can “hide” it with an Advantage plan because the medical and Rx re combined into one product.

That’s us. I don’t know what ours is going up to yet, but we hate the company we have for the drug plan, so probably time to change.

I figure I should stay with my Advantage plan, too. Benefits actually went up for most things. The vision plan went down from $200 to $75. So, I am going to get some glasses because I think I really need them.

A lot of plans have cut back dental benefits and vision benefits. Some Anthem plans even pulled the Silver Sneakers benefits. I’m changing my plan for next year, but I do it as an experiment since I am a broker, I want to get experience with all the carriers I represent in my area at one point or another.

I notice that the BCBS vision plan is cutting out Lasik and RK completely.

Foreign Billionaire Pours Millions Into U.S. Politics to Push Radical Green Agenda
By Gregory Lyakhov Oct. 11, 2025 7:45 am
For more than a decade, British billionaire hedge-fund manager Christopher Hohn has quietly funneled hundreds of millions of dollars into American politics.
Federal law strictly prohibits foreign nationals from directly or indirectly influencing U.S. elections, yet Hohn has become one of the most aggressive violators of that rule.

Just got word of a major scandal developing……..at Pop’s Assisted Living community. Seems that a particular resident was winning the bingo coverall almost every time as of late. She usually comes in late and by herself.
The other day she sat real close to Pop. During the short break during the final game of the night when cookies are dispensed, he saw her remove a card from her purse that had all the spots covered already.
He didn’t say anything to her directly, but he went to the Activity Director a couple days later and shared his findings with them. She is under surveillance from here on out. Did I mention that Pop was a former State Trooper? I’m dying here! 😀 😀 😀
