Good morning, ernnburn! Me, too. Growing up in southern California close to the coast meant the family usually spent vacations at the beaches in our trailer. Sometimes we’d get lucky and some of my Dad and Mom’s friends would offer their beach cabins to stay in for a week. Some great memories.

Morning Lucille. We were at Fernandina Beach on Amelia Island last week!

P. S. Word to those who might want to go. Lovely island, charming town, and great restaurants and accommodations. But while the beach views are beautiful, the sand is covered in small crushed shells and it’s like walking on glass.
Apparently this is because the island is so near King’s Bay Naval Submarine Base. They have to keep dredging a channel for the subs. Not a great beach for walking or playing. Wear good shoes and bring chairs.

Good morning everyone, I’m back. Happy to report that I survived having to mow my three plus acres of lawn around the house and was on a roll so I added doing around my two barns using my walk-behind mower since my tractor broke. Only took nineteen hours of actually walking behind my mower! Discovered tractor parts are made in China, even American made tractors so still waiting for my replacement parts to arrive. So happy it’s done! Wishing all a wonderful weekend.

Morning ernnburn! Congratulations on your mowing saga. When I was a kid, it was my job to mow a couple of acres. Part of the time I had a self-propelled walk behind, and then we got a riding mower! Enjoy a nice rest this weekend.

Me either. I lost track of how many days it took and broke it down into sections for so many hours per day. It took quite a while to finish, at least a week? Fortunately it’s cool here and leaves are dropping like crazy so the grass has slowed growing thankfully!

Mornin’ All. Overcast and drizzly today. It is in the 50’s and I don’t think it will actually get too much warmer. It is supposed to rain off and on all day. I checked the temps on the next few days and they are gradually going down each day. I think on Monday morning it is supposed to drop into the high 30’s. Good sleeping weather.

If I get cold, I just put on another piece of clothing and think about how miserably hot it was in Florida. LOL
Also, I found these lined pants which are just perfect because they really help keep my legs warm. The only real problem I have is remembering to put on socks before I put on sandals. Sometimes I wonder why my feet are cold. LOL

started vacation this morning in Boston. Now in Portland for lunch. Saw a lighthouse and the coastline. Some leaves have changed..Anyone want to do the National days can, or I will do when I have a break. Bus is too bumpy to do any typing.

This still active and still-staffed beacon is not the original tower, which was built in 1716 and destroyed in 1776. Boston Light was rebuilt in 1783. Visitors may climb to the top and tours come complete with a history lesson from the lighthouse keeper.”

Oh, gee. I started watching the new Naked Gun with Liam Neeson and Pamela Anderson. It starts off really bad, but there are a lot of laughs. I actually had tears running down my face. Unfortunately, it is not well made and there is at least one scene that is really nasty, too nasty to even describe. Too bad it wasn’t made by a non-woke director and maybe even non-woke writer. I can’t recommend it, but there were some laughs.
