What Charlie REALLY said about abortion

This video covers many subjects backed up with Charlie Kirk’s actual words.

As the YouTuber (Amir Odom) states: In this video we’re going to be discussing the most common things that are being said about Charlie Kirk and apply nuance and context to it all.

This section of the video pertains to abortion. As you will see, Charlie believed that abortion should be illegal in the same way that every other form of murder is illegal. Amir Odom periodically comments on the subject too. I have done my best to produce an accurate transcript. It’s not perfect, I am sure, but the essence is completely accurate.

Charlie: Everybody, do me a favor. Please be respectful, okay?

Questioner (Archer): Hello. Well, I have a few leading questions before my main one, um, because I have to be honest. I don’t really know that much about you. Um, so, would you say that you’re very religious?

Charlie: I am religious, however every one of my political positions is defensible from a non-religious perspective.

Questioner: Okay, great! Um, so, I was under the impression that your beliefs on abortion were stemming from your religious beliefs.

Charlie: Well, at the core that is correct, but it is defensible using reason and prudence, as I have done in the last couple of ….

Questioner: You’re not trying to illegalize abortion based on the Bible.

Charlie: Well, no, not based on the Bible. My person conviction comes from the Bible. I want to make abortion illegal because it is the only applicable extension of laws and standards we already have in the West. Correct.

Questioner: I’m sorry. Can you maybe rephrase that.

Charlie: Eliminating abortion is the only logical step while you apply the standard we already have in this country to unborn life. So we have murder laws; therefore murder laws should apply to unborn life as it does to born life.

Questioner: Okay. So, again reiterating, you’re not trying to instate laws based on Christian belief because that would be unconstitutional, right?

Charlie: Well not, again, sort of, but I am not using scripture to defend my beliefs; however my personal convictions start with scripture, but the political views we’re talking about here are all defensible using reason and Western tradition.

Questioner: So, great. That’s all I needed to know. That you weren’t trying to instate laws based on Christian beliefs, because I would not be able to support anything that was so um blatantly unconstitutional. But thank you for clarifying that for me. Um, had a whole thing ready, but I guess that wasn’t necessary. Thank you so much.

Charlie: Well look. First of all, tell me more about how you view politics, all right. Is that okay, or if not .. feel free to walk away,

[polite back and forth]

Charlie: Let me say one last thing. I can tell you probably have a negative impression of Christianity, maybe. I hope one day we can earn back your support, making Jesus Christ your Lord and Savior. I’m sorry if the church has failed you in that way, um, because I do have strong religious convictions and beliefs, and there is a God who made you and loves you, and sent his Son to die for you.

Questioner: Her name is mom.

Charlie: Thank you. I do appreciate the candor and the courage to come up here, but we will pray for you. Thank you.

Thanks, Stella, for another post in your series on Charlie Kirk’s misquotes and out-of-context or intentionally altered statements.

    Hope you continue the series.

I haven’t had time to watch the video as I’m getting ready to go on holiday with my family tomorrow and will be back probably on Sunday afternoon. But I’ve saved the video link.

    Take care of yourself!
