Stellars….
As we think of those whose lives were stolen from them on September 11th and yesterday, may we be ever more grateful for the preciousness of life itself. “And may justice roll down like waters, and righteousness like an ever-flowing stream.”

Good morning, Wee, Tex, Menagerie and Stella.
I don’t know how it will be done, but I believe it will be for each of us.
2 Corinthians 1:3
3 Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort;
KJV
1 Thessalonians 5:5-11
5 Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.
6 Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.
7 For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night.
8 But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation.
9 For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,
10 Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him.
11 Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do.
KJV

Good morning, and thank you. I’m afraid if I were to pick up my Bible and read right now, I would go straight to the maledictory Psalms.
LikeLiked by 3 people
I had never heard of the maledictory Psalms, so I looked it up and found this:
C.S. Lewis called them the “cursings” (he wrote a chapter on these psalms in his book, Reflections on the Psalms). In some cases, the actions the psalmist prays that God would take against others are described in violent and graphic language. For example, in Psalm 58 , the psalmist prays that God would “let [the wicked] be like the snail which dissolves into slime, like the untimely birth that never sees the sun” (v. 8). In some cases, though it is clear that the psalmist is wishing ill upon others, the punishment the psalmist prays that God would inflict them is more moderate: “Break thou the arm of the wicked and evildoer” (10:15). In other cases, the language is so incredibly benign that one could easily miss the language as representing a prayer against another. A common example of such mild cursing appears three times in the psalter: “Let them be put to shame and dishonor who seek after my life!” (35:4, cf. 40:14, 70:2). Such prayer may even be considered that for one’s own protection.
I get your point!

They are also called the interdictory Psalms.

I saw that in my searching. I had never heard that term before either, I don’t think.

Texan, I’m with you…it’s most definitely hard to say much of anything today. On the one hand you want to celebrate the lives of courageous and bold humans and on the other, you want heavy revenge for those who were so brave that evil cowards saw to it that they were eliminated.
When you look at it, save the senior senator from Pennsylvania, the elected Dems/progs/lefties/fascists/commies don’t have a single brave and courageous member among them. Liars, grifters, and pathetic whiners are all there is.

By the time I went to bed last night, there had been something posted by Brain-Freeze, Bathhouse, and Crooked Stick. Not one word from any “active-duty” democrats of any size or stripe.
I wonder if Chuck U understands the whirlwind that’s been unleashed and coming for him and his cronies.

National Hot Cross Bun Day – 6 Hot Cross Bun Superstitions
Unspoiled – Buns baked and served on Good Friday will not spoil or mold during the subsequent year. (English folklore)
Medicinal uses – A piece of it given to someone ill will help them recover. (English folklore)
Friendship – Sharing a hot cross bun with another ensures friendship throughout the coming year. This is supposed to be especially true if “Half for you and half for me, Between us two, shall goodwill be” is said at the time.
A kiss – Some people believe because there is a cross on the bun, they should kiss the buns before eating them.
A sailor’s hope – When taking a sea voyage, a hot cross bun will protect you during a sea voyage.
Home protection – One tradition says a hot cross bun hung in the kitchen protects against fires. It also ensures all bread turns out perfectly. (Replace the hanging bun each year.)
National Make Your Bed Day – I make mine but I don’t care if you make yours…
National School Picture Day – mine came out well until my Senior picture, which was important and hideous
Patriot Day and Day of Service and Remembrance

Good day, Czarina! Make Your Bed Day…now that Little Gee no longer sleeps on my bed and/or burrows under the covers, I can have a pretty bedspread. Of course, I’d rather have him back healthy and sleeping where he wanted. So missed!
All my black & white school photos, which began in 1st grade, are in my files. None are worthy of being framed and sitting around the apartment except for my 12th grade picture.

I don’t know much about bread, except that I really like homemade. I’m gonna go look up hot cross buns, as I’ve heard about ’em forever, but no idea what they are. I do make my bed at least 6 out of 7 days every week.

I spent too much time on X today. It is very disheartening to see the number of posts that attempt to justify the killing of Charlie Kirk. The leftist idea of “speech equals violence” has been absorbed and accepted by too many. Not to mention that his words have been taken out of context – deliberately in my opinion – to tarnish his reputation. One example that I saw at least twice is a video where Charlie is arguing with Cenk Ugyur (Young Turks), and the poster represents it as Charlie calling a Chinese woman a “chink” repeatedly. Of course, he is saying “Cenk”. They know better.

I’ve spent a ton of time on there also. And I’ve seen several posts like this. Showed one to my husband earlier, an Asian guy who actually posted a picture of himself with Obama, said he’s voted Democrat in every presidential election, including for Kamala. Changed his voter registration to Republican today.
I hope there are millions of those people out there. There damned well should be. Although I will say this. It’s been eating at me since the campaign season, how poisonous and hate filled some on our side are. Many are openly contemptuous of all who do not toe the line, check off every box in what they consider to be the Trump loyalty list. I think that’s ridiculous and harmful behavior, and indicative of small minds and shallow motives. But I’ve never, so far, seen even them go so far as to wish someone dead, and rejoice over assassination. One person in my dealings has come close, but not quite gone there.

I’m trying to keep the good in mind, while being inundated by the bad. I don’t understand HOW someone could be happy about another human being murdered, no matter who that person it. I have never ever felt that way. I might say that I’m not unhappy that a person like, say, Charlie Manson died, because we don’t have to worry about that evil existing on earth any longer. I’m not even for the death penalty, but I won’t cry over an evil person leaving this earth.
Like you, I am not an absolutist, which is why I welcome J.D. Vance, JFK Jr. and Tulsi Gabbard to the party. Heck, even Donald Trump used to be a Democrat.
PS: We can judge them by their actions.

I am happy to report that a lot of people seem to be unemployed as of close of business today. Far too many of these wack-jobs have operated with impunity for at least the last dozen or so years and I think they figured they were still on that same glide-path. Apperently some schools, hospitals and other employers have had enough purple hair and nose rings running their asylum and are slowly waking up.
