We have been feeding hummers for over 15 years and this year is probably the largest population we’ve ever had. Still thick as thieves.

Wish I had hummingbirds up here, I really love them. Don’t care much for tailgating, but I would like to have the ice cream. My grandchildren love to read, especially the oldest. She is a real bookworm. It is a beautiful day to play outside today here.

In honors of coffee ice cream day. FYI, chocolate vodka is nasty, but this milkshake is awesome. Had it many evenings, one hot summer about 15 or so years ago.

      Ingredients

      • 1 ½ oz chocolate vodka
      • 1 ½ cups coffee ice cream
      • ½ ripe banana, preferably frozen
      • ½ cup milk or heavy cream
      • Chocolate syrup, for drizzling (optional)
      • Whipped cream, for garnish (optional)

      Instructions

      1. Prepare the glass: For an extra chocolatey flavor and decorative effect, drizzle some chocolate syrup inside a tall glass before you begin.
      2. Combine the ingredients: Add the coffee ice cream, half a banana, chocolate vodka, and milk (or heavy cream) into a blender. Using a frozen banana will help create a thicker, creamier texture.
      3. Blend until smooth: Blend all the ingredients together until you reach a smooth, thick, and creamy consistency.
      4. Pour and serve: Pour the milkshake into your prepared glass.
      5. Garnish and enjoy: Top with whipped cream and an extra drizzle of chocolate syrup for a decadent finish. Serve immediately and enjoy.

      Good day, Czarina!

My parents fed a hummingbird they named Jubal after a character in one of their favorite Louis L’Amour novels.

Surprisingly enough, this mild coffee flavor is delicious. Have to be careful the whole thing isn’t gone in one sitting…Haagen-Dazs is good, too, but Ben&Jerry’s is on my boycott list….

Mornin’ All. Cool here this morning, but will get up to 80* later. Nice weather.

New neighbors moved in yesterday. I am hoping and expecting that things to be better. He is already talking about getting a snowblower to keep the driveway cleared off, which never happened in the snow last winter. It was always a problem. Plus, I expect them to be a little neater. There was always trash around the car and in the backyard of the other ones.

Enjoy the cooler weather if ya got it.

I don’t give a flip about Don Lemon, but this was very interesting. He went to Cracker Barrel for the first time. I don’t know what he was actually expecting, but he seemed really pleased with everything. I had to laugh at one statement he made (actually I laughed at a lot). Hey said to give the person who took you to your table a tip because next time you come in they won’t make you wait in line. That is that New York City arrogance and ignorance of the rest of the country showing. Of course you will wait in line. LOL

Left out a few things that just pop in my mind, plus, I’m sure, much, much more in that closet. How about Rose supposedly let Joseph Sr. die from his stroke in retaliation for his affairs? Rumor. How about his affairs, all his sons’ affairs and sexual abuses, and how did Marilyn Monroe die and who fathered her child?

Yeah, I don’t think they need to worry about their vaunted pedigree, they just don’t want to lose their evil encrusted throne at the top of the Democrat aristocracy.

Afternoon all! Sounds like most of us have some better weather. Bad storms here today.

First sourdough batch of the season. Yes, there is a sourdough season. It starts whenever the urge hits me in September until March-ish. Now I keep my starter year round, so I can do the odd batch here and there, but fall and winter are all about bread and soup for me.

My two best soups are chicken corn chowder and oxtail stew, both my own recipes, which I’ve worked and adjusted over the years. Another best is tomato soup, but it’s a recipe I found online. Tomorrow it’ll be the chicken corn chowder to go with the molasses brown bread rolls I’m making. Yum!
