Tex is on vacay this week, so here is a coffee urn for all of us today. As he says, keep your head on a swivel and carpe’ your coffee!

Thank you Stella and good morning. Happy Friday all, and here’s to a good weekend. We had a very brief thunderstorm last night, heavy on thunder, little bit of rain. It reduced the temperature by about .0003 degrees for 9 seconds. Then the steam from the ground started. Does that happen in other places than the South or do you have to have our humidity? I don’t know on that one.

There’s not a link to the NYT article here because of their paywall, but the conversation in comments gives you the meat of it. Some doctors want to be able to take your organs whether you, and your family, agree. That’s the bottom line. Redefining death means they get to say what it means.

I’m sure I am not the only one to be seeing all these recent articles about a lot of unethical actions around the organ donor programs.

Here’s how I see it. Doctors and hospitals, some of them, went all in on the trans stuff because of money. People who alter their bodies in such horrid ways require a lifetime of seriously expensive medical care. It’s the same, to some extent, with organ donation.

I have not been able to verify this, but one article I read recently made the claim that a hospital where organs were taken from their loved one made over a quarter of a million dollars on them. I am not sure whether that was in America, I was reading it on the fly, as I had to go somewhere.
