Stellars….
AMAZING GRACE by Susan Boyle
John Newton wrote a total of six verses. John P. Rees is often credited as the author of an additional verse that begins “When we’ve been there…”, but there is some debate as to whether Rees was the true author. The verse became associated with “Amazing Grace” after Harriett Beecher Stowe included two of Newton’s verses followed by the “When we’ve been there” verse in her 1852 novel Uncle Tom’s Cabin.
“When we’ve been there…” is positioned as the final stanza in most modern hymnbooks, while two or three of Newton’s original verses are typically excluded. Here are Newton’s six original verses followed by the familiar final verse.
Amazing grace! (how sweet the sound)
That sav’d a wretch like me!
I once was lost, but now am found,
Was blind, but now I see.
‘Twas grace that taught my heart to fear,
And grace my fears reliev’d;
How precious did that grace appear
The hour I first believ’d!
Thro’ many dangers, toils, and snares,
I have already come;
‘Tis grace hath brought me safe thus far,
And grace will lead me home.
The Lord has promis’d good to me,
His word my hope secures;
He will my shield and portion be
As long as life endures.
Yes, when this flesh and heart shall fail,
And mortal life shall cease;
I shall possess, within the veil,
A life of joy and peace.
The earth shall soon dissolve like snow,
The sun forbear to shine;
But God, who call’d me here below,
Will be forever mine.
When we’ve been there ten thousand years,
Bright shining as the sun,
We’ve no less days to sing God’s praise
Than when we’d first begun.

Good morning Lucille,
Lovely to have all the verses in one place! So much of it is often omitted.
The beauty of the earth, the sound of a voice in song, and the written words, all to bring glory to God.
A blessed Sunday to you, too.

Good mornin’, and Happy Father’s Day! So glad we all made it through all of those No Kings protests. Did’ja know they actually had one of those (or more) in England? That’s how sharp these people are! Brought out one of the big guns this morning. Three lines and you can get right through. Keep your head on a swivel and carpe’ your coffee!

Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud likely could not be happier at Israel’s preemptive strike on Iran.
No love lost between Saudi Arabs and Iranians what with Iran wanting to take over Mecca and Medina for the Shia sect.

You need to read this to appreciate how brilliant and (Trump) coordinated the strikes were!

This part of the Hilbany summation stood out for me:
“At last, an American president kept his word. He was very clear about it even before his second term started: Iran can’t have a bomb. Trump wanted it to go peacefully, but he warned that if the Iranians didn’t agree to dismantle their program entirely, they’d be bombed.”
President Trump prefers peace. The overtures were there, should by some miracle, they be accepted by a fanaticism not given to peace. But, if they would have war, then they would indeed have it. Part of the President’s reservations about the Gaza situation has been that it has been allowed to drag on by Israel.
The article also gives credit to the number of countries that are tired of fanatics at their doorstep. Sad that it took 20 years. Think back and really appreciate what President Trump accomplished in his first, and now in his second terms with the Abrahamic accords.
Israel was attacked. It is right that they should respond with vigor. And they have been well-aided, and the manner of that is still unfolding.
“In all history, there is no instance of a country having benefited from prolonged warfare. Only one who knows the disastrous effects of a long war can realize the supreme importance of rapidity in brining it to a close.” – Sun Tzu (Military strategist, philosopher, 544 BC – 496 BC, China)

Nothing beats home roasted turkey or turkey breast. I have made it on a rotisserie gas grill and it is absolutely delicious for a summer cookout.
You have to find a really small turkey though. Once I had my rotisserie rod unscrew in the middle and the turkey fell into the grill. I rescued it and all was well!

My grandchildren all have Hand, foot, and mouth disease and so nobody came to church because it is so contagious. Their father had it when he was only 3 yrs old. All my other day care children had chicken pox but he had that. I don’t believe the two diseases are connected at all.

That’s unfortunate, but they will all recover well, I’m sure. HFMD is caused by a coxsackievirus. A disease all its own!

When my son caught it, he seemed perfectly healthy, went off to the store with his father, and came back home crying with blisters on his hands. When I asked my husband what had happened to our son, he nearly flipped out since he had no idea. The blisters just appeared within an hour. I think he got over it pretty quickly.
