Morning Wee! Drunkest cities missed me, in both Tennessee and Georgia. Although my oldest did reside in Nashville for a long time, and now lives just outside the metro area.

Good mornin’, and happy Monday! As we begin Week 14, I thought we would find something from a funky era, this art deco percolator set. Keep your head on a swivel, and carpe’ your coffee!

He held on thru Easter. I read many people seem to have a goal like a holiday or birthday.

Oh my. That seems sudden, considering that he was just doing public events.

I saw something about this earlier yesterday, so I went down the rabbit hole and things appear to check out. Take a look at Sen. Van Hollen’s family tree and background. Both of his parent’s were spooks and were stationed in some real nasty places. Then, when he got to the House, he rose quickly and was given special streatment by none other than SanFranNan, and his base of operations is where her and her family first got their start in the dark art of politics. Apparently, we misunderestimate him at our own peril.

National Rendering Day – picture shows a cow, but I know fat is rendered elsewhere, too.
National Chocolate Covered Cashews Day – yay, chocolate and nuts!
National Yellow Bat Day. On this day in 1967, the Army activated the 265th Army Security Agency Company (Airborne) with the 101st Airborne Division at Fort Campbell, Kentucky. An intel unit. Czar never mentioned it, and he was at Tet.

Good day, Czarina! Since we lived within walking distance of the primary school, Mom walked my sister to 2nd grade and me to kindergarten every morning and was waiting for us when school let out. Kindergarten was fine except we all missed our mothers and at some point in the day someone would be crying about it, myself included. There was a nap time and each pupil brought a small rug or blanket from home with name affixed. My blanket was light blue and name was embroidered in pink. I still have it in my linen closet. It’s 78 years old.
Looked up National Yellow Bat Day and it turns out there is also a day for the animal…it’s on July 2nd…
The following photos show the insignia of the military Yellow Bat….
“Company HQ, Camp Eagle, RVN, 1970.
Note the bat on sign”
The bat was placed on all equipment…
“1968 AN/PRD-1 HF Direction Finder Receiver
Note the yellow bat on radio”

Love chocolate covered cashews and am happy to join that celebration.
As for a National Rendering Day, this is an explanation….
“What is rendering? In short, rendering is recycling from that 50% of the animal we don’t eat. Rendering reclaims the otherwise wasted material, such as protein, bone, and fat and even includes used cooking oil (UCO) from restaurants. The rendering process safely, hygienically, and sustainably processes that unused material (the meat we don’t eat) into new products and goods so nothing is wasted. When we render material safely and hygienically, we process the material in a sustainable and safe manner. In addition, we convert what would have been food waste into material for use in new products.”

Our beautiful day and descended into cloudy and dark. And, about an hour ago I heard hard drumming on the roof and it was a torrential rain……for a few minutes. A while later, Loki needed to go out and while we were out, it started hailing, small ones, thankfully, but that went on for a while. Then the sun came out again and now it is getting dark again. Interesting weather. Makes me think about the cowboys who were outside and what they thought.
