Update on MAID in Canada (Medical Assistance In Dying) & Expansion in Britain, USA and other western countries

Medically assisted death, also known as assisted suicide, is among the top six leading causes of death in Canada.

The number of Canadians dying prematurely by “medical assistance in dying” (MAiD) has risen thirteenfold since legalization.

A new research report from Christian think tank Cardus showed cancer, heart diseases, COVID-19, accidents and cerebrovascular diseases were the only conditions that exceeded medically assisted death as causes of death.

MAiD assessors and providers do not treat it as a last resort. The percentage of MAiD requests that are denied continues to decline (currently it is 3.5 percent). MAiD requests can be assessed and provided in a single day.

Despite the importance of accurate vital statistics, some provinces’ death records do not record MAiD as a cause of death, instead recording the underlying condition that led to the MAiD request and subsequent death. Further, Health Canada reports on the number of MAiD deaths, but Statistics Canada does not consider MAiD a cause of death. These inconsistencies in reporting have an impact on research about MAiD and about causes of death more generally.

According to Wikipedia:

There have been 60,301 MAID deaths reported in Canada since the introduction of legislation in 2016. In 2023, 15,343 MAID provisions were reported in Canada, accounting for 4.7% of all deaths in Canada. This represents a growth rate of 15.8% over 2022.

Here is a podcast by Winston Marshall with Kelsi Sheren, a Canadian war veteran and activist against assisted dying. She discusses the expansion of “Assisted Dying” and euthanasia in Canada, Britain, USA and the West.

In the U.K. the Terminally Ill Adults (End of Life) Bill, introduced by Kim Leadbeater, proposes to legalize assisted dying for terminally ill adults in England and Wales. Sheren explains the dangers of this proposed bill She argues that MAID (Medical Assistance in Dying), initially intended for terminally ill individuals, has expanded to include those with mental illnesses and mature minors.

She cites examples of misuse, such as a 27-year-old autistic woman approved for MAID. Sheeran emphasizes the slippery slope towards eugenics and the societal impact of devaluing lives.

Personally, I believe this is a part of the movement to decrease the world population, adding to their “success” with abortion.

I knew this was where they were headed when I first heard about it back in 2016.

There of my former neighbours from when I was living in the city – all people living with disabilities – had their lives ended through MAiD. One of them, after living for 2 years in extreme pain due to basically botched surgery. Our system has failed when it comes to palliative care and pain management. It’s much easier to just kill off the useless eaters.

One of my other neighbours actually campaigned *for* MAiD. He touted is as “death with dignity”. I can certainly understand where he was coming from, but certainly disagreed with the idea that offing someone through MAiD is any sort of dignified death. Especially as we hear about how people actually die. It’s not the soft and peaceful slipping to the other side we were told to believe.

Oh, and those numbers are inaccurate. Covid shouldn’t even be on the list. Our Overlords made no secret that they were counting deaths *with* Covid – and “presumed Covid” as deaths *by* Covid. Of the few people I know of that died “of covid”, they were all killed by the treatment protocols. Others were permanently damaged by the treatment protocols. In Quebec, many people in nursing homes died as staff refused to come in to work during the illegal lockdowns, to the point the military was brought in. They were finding bodies that had been in their beds for days, covered in bedsores and their own waste. A military investigation was done and they found that these seniors died of starvation and dehydration, due to lack of care. All were counted as “covid” deaths, and not one person has been held accountable.

I’ve read the actual rate of death by MAiD puts it as the third leading cause of death in Canada, and that was at least a year ago.
