Day FORTY-FIVE of Presidential recovery.

Today is Ash Wednesday, the first day of the Lenten season. This day is observed with fasting, and the application of ashes on the forehead as a sign of repentance and mortality. Lent is the time before Easter when Christians prepare to commemorate Jesus’s Resurrection through prayer, penance, and fasting.

In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.

Genesis 3:19

Good mornin’, and happy Hump Day! I’m exhausted after watching that beat down last night. I’ve never seen anything like it in my lifetime. We’re gonna need a lot of coffee this morning I’m pretty sure! Keep your head on a swivel and carpe’ your coffee!

Good morning! Gray skies here, and still damp enough that the dog will get muddy feet and get it all over the kitchen floor. Oh well. Mopping again.

Mornin’ all ya’all! Storm was over in about 1/2 hour last evening,, having messed up parades but lots of people stayed on the streets till the rain came so there was still Mardi Gras celebration.

Now Ash Wednesday in this very Catholic city. Some churches have drive thru service.

Mornin’ All. Chilly out there right now. And, it smells like rain. Don’t know if it will actually happen, but it might. The driveway is clear of snow, so I can drive to Bible Study today.

Wasn’t that speech last night great! I have a short attention span and often can’t make it through long speeches, but I could not turn away. And, I loved that President Trump pointed out that the Dems wouldn’t stand up or clap for anything, and they proved him right. And, it was great that they threw out Al Green, but I heard this morning that the man who was supposed to throw him out went over and checked with Nancy Pelosi and didn’t do his job. But, they finally got another man to do it. I hope that first one gets fired.

Anyway, enjoy the day and our President.

I’m glad that President Trump’s address to the nation last night mentioned autism and the huge increase in recent years. RFK, Jr. is likely working on solutions.

“How a Broccoli Compound Became an Autism Hero”

A safe supplement, sulforaphane has been shown to improve behavior and language in autistic kids—giving families a harmless alternative to medication.

    By Amy Denney – 3/4/2025

Greer McGuinness decided when her son Keegan was diagnosed with autism at 19 months old that she needed to go back to college and pursue a master’s degree in health sciences to better help him.

As she researched natural remedies for autism for her capstone project, McGuinness stumbled onto sulforaphane—a plant compound found in cruciferous vegetables, frequently extracted from broccoli seeds and sprouts. The research compelled her to dive in and publish a review. Meanwhile, her experience using it for Keegan produced fascinating changes.
