Morning czarina! I love sweet potatoes, and so does Tucker! I make dehydrated sweet potato chips for him as a treat. You are right about California. I have rellies in the northern part of the state, and they are very nice people.

Good day, Czarina! Sweet potatoes have always been a favorite. Mom’s candied sweet potatoes (and yams, too) were superb and always in demand for potlucks, picnics and the holidays around California.
This morning a friend I’ve known since junior high, and who keeps me abreast of the happenings in the town we grew up in, wrote me a nostalgic remembrance which got me to thinking of the various houses I lived in as a kid.
So I went to Google maps and looked up a couple which are still standing, one being largely renovated; but I can still see the eight-foot wide plate glass window Dad put in the kitchen. Of course, traveling around the once-small town I lived in from 1946 to 1963 shows how incredibly it’s grown. Couldn’t find a single walnut or orange tree left on the streets I traversed via Google. They once were in abundance and a large part of the local economy. Gone, too, are the dairies and nearly every spot of agricultural enterprise.
Life moves on….

Good mornin’, and happy Saturday, kids! What a week of WINNING! Even late into the evening last night. I had to sleep in just a bit! Made me feel like being rustic after all that winning and sleeping. Keep your head on a swivel and carpe’ your coffee! Mrs. T and I are heading to the HOU shortly to celebrate some friends nuptials so I’ll be off grid until sometime later tomorrow afternoon.

Afternoon All. Overcast and a little breezy here. I woke up to what sounded like like a lawnmower and had visions of Spring. But, quickly realized that nobody could be mowing the lawn because it is still under a foot or two of snow. Of course, the snow is melting and so there are puddles of water with ice at the bottom all over. What a mess. Anyway, I can hear the breeze blowing through the tall trees.
Rest up. We have more winning to do.
