lost a re-election bid,
chosen not to seek another term,
been prevented from running for re-election due to a term limit,
or holds a position that has been eliminated.
Before the ratification of the 20th Amendment to the United States Constitution, Congress had a 13-month delay between election day and the day the newly elected officials took office. In other words, the lame-duck was given a 13-month termination notice, crippling their influence. Hence the ‘lame’ or injured duck.

Afternoon All. It snowed some more last night. I had to shovel a path for little Loki to walk because it is too deep. She wants to do her business on the concrete instead of going out in the snow. This should help a little. I think we have more snow forecast for tonight.
I had to laugh this morning because I saw the big giant snow plow go by, “ROARRRRRRRUmble”. And, then, a little behind it came a small plow about the size of a large mower, “nyeenyeenyee”. And, I did actually LOL. I think we have about 2 feet of snow on our parking lot. One of the renters tried to get out last evening and after 4 tries, gave up and stayed home. Glad I didn’t even try. She had an all wheel drive. I will have to look up the difference between that and a 4 wheel drive. My family came over in a 4 wheel drive and a 4 wheel drive truck. They got out, but it wasn’t easy. Glad I can stay home.
Well, hope your weather is better. Enjoy the day and try not to get too exhausted from reading all that President Trump is making happen.

Good afternoon! I think all wheel drive is the same as 4-wheel drive. They changed the term to avoid confusion with front wheel drive (same abbreviation as 4-wheel drive).
I’m glad we don’t have snow; all of ours melted. We did get a bit of ‘wintry mix’ last night, which left ice here and there on sidewalks and parking lots.

Yes they are pretty much the same, except the all wheel is usually on smaller vehicles and the four wheel has a way to change gears the the all wheel doesn’t.

During the 18 years we were in Minnesota, we would hear the lifetime farmers and good ol’ boys laugh at themselves as they explained the difference between the four-wheel drive and the not-four-wheel drive:
“Having a four-wheel drive just means you get stuck in deeper snow.”
Their ability to quietly laugh at themselves was a treasure.

From an AP article: DOGE has assigned a woman to oversee the termination of 7500 GSA (General Services Administration) federal office leases nationwide.
That ought to save a few hundreds of thousands of dollars. Probably empty anyway.
At some point all the people newly out of work, and owners of these offices who are not receiving any income are going to affect the economy. Guess they could learn how to code (Obama ‘s people’s response when coal miners complained they were being put out of work by new laws to reduce use of coal).
