The Churches Opposing Trump (and a majority of all Americans) on Immigration are taking millions/billions in federal funds

The hypocrisy of the Episcopal Church, Catholic Church, Baptist Church etc. is very interesting. If you want to know how interesting, check out the HHS TAGGS database, search awards on the word “alien” (or various other words, like unaccompanied alien), select a time period and see what you get. This is big business.

Here is a link to the TAGGS search page that I used. I will also provide some summary data for you.

https://taggs.hhs.gov/SearchAward

You can do searches of your own from this page, and sort the results by clicking at the top of the column you wish to sort by. I sorted by recipient.

If you don’t want to do this, here is an article that lays out some current data for the Episcopal and Catholic organizations:

PJ MEDIA

The New York Post reported Friday that Budde’s “sermon to President Trump during an inaugural prayer service, coupled with her church’s advocacy for humanitarian immigration programs, reveals a striking hypocrisy — one that could be seen as self-serving and even a conflict of interest.” This is because in 2023, EMM “earned $53 million from various taxpayer-funded government programs to resettle 3,600 individuals.” If Trump stops the migrant influx and ends the funding for such programs, the Episcopal Church could suddenly be facing a significant shortfall of cash.

[…]

The Episcopal Church isn’t alone in this hypocrisy. The Post notes that “the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) dwarfs EMM. Forbes reported that USCCB affiliate Catholic Charities USA, which has its hand in all aspects of immigration and seems to get money from every government agency except NASA, received $1.4 billion in taxpayer dollars in 2021. That’s 68 times more than EMM got that year.”

Here is some data that I searched out pertaining to HHS grants for the Unaccompanied Alien Children Program back in 2018:

The total for the Unaccompanied Alien Children Program, Number 93676, for fiscal year 2018 is $943,300,152. I saw an article in the New York Daily News that puts the cost over $1 billion. The Daily News explains that the $943 million doesn’t include at least another $129.5 million paid to the for-profit vendors who provide services such as transportation, security and health care at these shelters.

The biggest recipient by far is Southwest Key Programs Inc., with 2018 awards totaling $458,658,830.

I was interested in programs being run by churches, so I made note of those. Here is a list of those (the ones that I identified):

  • BCFS Health & Human Service (Baptist) – $126,760,343
  • Board of Child Care of the United Methodist Church – $6,299,728
  • Catholic Charities, Miami and Galveston-Houston – $11,392,203
  • Catholic Guardian Services – $7,487,349
  • US Conference of Catholic Bishops – $10,103,169
  • Holy Family Institute – $5,724,699
  • Jewish Child Care Association of New York – $2,036,320
  • Lutheran Immigration & Refugee Service – $22,917,604
  • Lutheran Social Services of Metropolitan New York – $4,987,744
  • Lutheran Social Services of the South Inc – $19,469,490
  • St. Peter St. Joseph Children’s Home – $6,895,707

Other big recipients (more than $10 Million):

  • Cayuga Home for Children DBA Cayuga Centers – $39,966,626
  • Florence Crittenton Services of Orange County – $12,553,541
  • Heartland Human Care Services Inc – $39,151,881
  • His House Inc. – $12,967,407
  • Leake & Watts Services Inc – $14,895,996
  • Lincoln Hall – $16,457,711
  • Morrison Child & Family Services – $10,836,824
  • The Children’s Village Inc – $19,499,019
  • Youth For Tomorrow – $12,421,178

I encourage you to do searches of your own. It’s quite enlightening. Search by the recipient to see other awards that they receive. I searched on the words “Catholic Charities” and found that they have other awards for Head Start, and Refugee & Entrant Assistance.

If what I have read is true, the USCCB spent $0 on opposing the Biden and Congress abortion agenda.

    Thank you Stella,

It’s not an easy subject to discuss.

These organizations have disguised themselves well. It was similar to this in Christ’s day.

    Matthew 23:27-28
27 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited sepulchres, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men’s bones, and of all uncleanness.
28 Even so ye also outwardly appear righteous unto men, but within ye are full of hypocrisy and iniquity. KJV

Evil latches onto good by deception. A house-cleaning is needed.

Some worthy organizations are going to suffer because of this. What government gives, government can always take away.

Some are waking up to this. I add this video which uses sarcasm to help explain what helped allow the subversion of the Day of Prayer at the National Cathedral.

    Commercials are at the end.
