Amazing Ice Flow | 2025
CharlevoixCam – Posted January 22, 2025
It is always interesting to see what goes in and out from Lake Michigan to Round Lake. Sometimes the ice is in big sheets and in layers, sometimes it is donut shaped, and sometimes there appears to be no order at all….

and sometimes it changes direction. Tide?

That is almost hypnotic.

Charlevoix is a lovely little town. I once stayed in that hotel shown on the right side of the video. That was in May, though, and we golfed rather than participating in snow sports.

No kidding, Wee! Unfortunately that isn’t the case here. It’s snowing again. Just a little, but every day this week.

Good mornin’, and happy Friday, y’all! What a day yesterday, huh? POTUS put the entire world on notice that we’re mad as h*ll and we’re not gonna take it anymore! I just wish I could have seen the entire speech! Since it’s Friday, we need our combo machine today! Keep your head on a swivel, make sure you’re well rested, and carpe’ your coffee!

Good mornin’, Miss Wee! Ain’t that something. We get up and have those visions of actually getting something done right after that 3rd cup of coffee. Turns out it’s just enough to get you through Price is Right without taking a nap!

Remember the name Peter Daszak? Some good news about him and his evil company Eco-Health Alliance. Looks like they’re out of the US grifter game and funding of GoF research, at least on our dime.

At the end of our snowmageddon. Last of the major roads opening today as the machines and sun do their work. Schools and government reopening. Only 32* this morning.

Anyone else considering whether these wildfires are connected to anything else? It’s crossed my mind.

𝗙𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗦𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗮 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮 𝘁𝗼 𝗠𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗯𝘂: Documenting Progress After Devastating Palisades Fire
It’s a long video (41:51 mins) but the photographer barely speaks at all and doesn’t give opinions. It shows the capriciousness of fire. At one spot there is a row of houses still standing and not burned at all. Then right in the middle there’s one house burned almost to nothingness.
The county has already removed a bunch of burned out cars, but they have to leave the Teslas or other EVs in place with only a marking that it is hazardous and must be removed by specialists.
Videoed on the 20th by Fabian Lewkowicz of Santa Monica Closeup Media.
It’s heartrending to all who were familiar with this stretch of the Pacific Coast Highway (CA-1 is the boring official name and Palisades Beach Road when in the Santa Monica city limits) with its restaurants and stores + businesses of all kinds along with many smaller houses packed close together on the beachfront. It was always great fun to make the trek from West Los Angeles which could take an hour to traverse.

National Compliment Day – good idea to give out several!
National Beer Can Appreciation Day – the photo shows the tops of cans, perhaps focusing our appreciation on pop-tops. I remember when beer required a can opener
National Peanut Butter Day – a great invention. Made better with the addition of pieces of nuts.

Mornin’ czarina! Peanut butter is a favorite, but I like the creamy kind.

She’s just lapping up the attention. The clip I saw of her appearance via remote on “The View” was…well, let’s just say that I could have used one of those bags the airlines have available for the use of nauseated patrons.
