One of my favorite towns: Telluride, Colorado. I’ve never been there in the winter! Located in the southwest part of the state, it got its name from the minerals found in the area, including silver and gold.It is a great area for 4-wheeling, beautiful landscapes and historically significant mines and ghost towns.

I have photos from the top of this pass; 13,114 feet above sea level. The pass road is amazing in the summer, when the lower basins are filled with acres of wildflowers! One of the nicknames for this part of Colorado is America’s Switzerland.

Too much snow to get there in the winter, although I have read that people got from the Tomboy Mine in Savage Basin (elevation 11,500 feet) down to Telluride, 3,000 feet below, in the winter. In the book Tomboy Bride, the author tells how she is taken to town in mid winter to have her baby!

2025 New Year’s Resolution: Do Something Honorable Today and Every Day

by Lawrence Kadish – January 5, 2025 at 7:00 am

The New Year has become a traditional time to reflect on the year past and ponder the year to come.

Invariably, the forecasters focus on the next 12 short months while failing to appreciate the sweep of history that has brought us to this next chapter of American history.

Here’s Part 1 of my Jan. 6 video investigation into some of the people dressed as Trump supporters who appeared to be escorted onto the scene by officials, then conferred w/police, then were allowed to join the crowd, become key instigators.

January 6 was a scam that was set up by Nancy Pelosi with the help from three letter agencies.

Good mornin’, kids! 14 days! We can make it! But to start that process, we need coffee. This one is described as a Femoka French coffee maker. Keep your head on a swivel and carpe’ your coffee!

Seriously, I would never step foot in the White House or Congress without knowing that an exorcist had performed rites.

Remember the congressional employee who filmed himself having sex in one of the board rooms? You don’t commit evil acts such as that, and I’m not naive enough to for one minute imagine that one to be a singular event, without opening the door to bad possibilities.

And I also wouldn’t trust my soul on a personal level to Dolan. However, if he follows strictly the rites and offices of the Church, God does the work.

Afternoon All. It is winter here. The road seems pretty clear and I am going to venture out to do some more packing at the house. We didn’t have much time yesterday. My son went back to work and my DIL has teaching to do.

Found out two things yesterday. The rental agent told me and my DIL that the parking lot would be cleared by the owner, which we found out isn’t true. And, she said one of the carports was assigned to my apartment. Well, she told the tenant underneath that it belonged to whoever moved in first. Hmmm. My biggest concern is that it almost caused a rift between me and the other tenant. I am glad he happened to come home when my son and DIL were unloading the truck and they told him that it was the realtor who told me that it was mine. I am going to have to double check everything the realtor says from now on.

Well, back to the old grind. I don’t know which is worse, cleaning up and moving, or the drive on bad roads. 🙄

    Stay warm.

Good afternoon! I have always lived in the north, and I still don’t like winter. Glad to know you are working out the kinks in your new place, and it is too bad that the realtor made it harder for you with the ‘fibbing’.

    More Biden Lame Duck Crap

A Biden administration ban on certain natural gas water heaters as part of the lame duck president’s climate agenda could send prices soaring for the elderly and the poor.

Under the policy, new non-condensing, natural gas-fired water heaters will be prohibited for sale starting in 2029 due to concerns about carbon-dioxide emissions. The policy comes during President Biden’s twilight days in the White House and was quietly announced without a press release.

If the policy takes effect, as it is slated to on March 11, a little less than 40% of the tankless water heaters currently on the market would be banned, according to an estimate from the Appliance Standards Awareness Project.

The new rules, which were published by the Department of Energy just after Christmas, also stipulate that new tankless gas water heaters must rely on 13% less energy than the least efficient comparable model on the markets today.

While the restrictions don’t outright ban non-condensing models, only condensing models have been able to meet the new ratcheted-up energy efficiency requirements, according to the Washington Free Beacon.

Made a yummy chili-mac for dinner last night, and there are lots of leftovers. It’s kind of Tex-Mex/Italian/Greek. First I made a veggie chili with 3 kinds of beans and lots of onion, mushrooms and peppers. The next day, I heated the chili up and mixed in cubed rotisserie chicken breast and Feta cheese crumbles, then a half pound of cooked Rigatoni noodles, in a large casserole dish. Topped it all with shredded Colby-Jack cheese, and baked in a 350° oven, uncovered, for 35-40 minutes.

Sounds kind of weird, but it is really tasty. Not low calorie and definitely not low-carb.

PS: It was kind of born because I needed to use up peppers, mushrooms and feta cheese. I already had all of the ingredients.

JUST IN: Biden DOJ to Bring Charges in 200 More January 6 Cases at the Last Minute to Throw a Wrench in Trump’s Pardon Plans

By Cristina Laila  Jan. 6, 2025 4:00 pm

    Four years later…

The Biden DOJ on Monday revealed it is likely going to charge 200 more Trump supporters related to the January 6, 2021 Capitol protest.

More than 1,500 January 6ers – many nonviolent, first time offenders – have been charged by Merrick Garland’s DOJ in the last four years.

Biden’s DOJ hunted down MAGA grandmothers and other non-violent offenders and threw them in the DC gulag.

Merrick Garland’s prosecutors may unseal indictments at the last minute to derail Trump’s plans to pardon January 6 defendants.
