Like every other cabinet nominee in the long history of cabinet nominations, Pete Hegseth isn’t perfect. And while I do know him personally, I’m not in a position to comment on the allegations from anonymous sources that have plagued his nomination.

However, having read his book—The War on Warriors: Behind the Betrayal of the Men Who Keep Us Free—and talking to him at length about his frustration with the Generals and bureaucrats who have been running the US military, I can understand why he was nominated to shake things up.
