In an interview on Tuesday, former Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos responded to President-elect Donald Trump’s plan to eliminate the Department of Education.
DeVos made the remarks in an interview with Fox News.
“President Trump will need to partner with Congress to actually get that done, but there are many steps that can be taken to re-empower states and local communities and importantly, families,” DeVos said in the interview about for former president’s plan and give power back to the states.
“The bureaucrats at the Department of Education aren’t doing the job. They haven’t done the job for more than four decades to close achievement gaps, they’ve only widened,” she added.
DeVos then said that education freedom and school choice needs to happen as soon as Trump enters office.
“The [teachers] unions have overplayed their hand in every area. Parents have seen it,” DeVos added.
“The Department doesn’t really add any value anywhere,” she stated, adding that only 9 percent of spending for K-12 comes from the federal government but over 90 percent of the regulation comes from Washington.
“It’s not what’s best for students, it’s what’s best for lobbyists,” she said.

That’s the job of Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy, they have the red cape and the S on their chests.

While the Department of Education has bureaucratic ineffectiveness, and should be dismantled, I remain skeptical of Trump’s ability to tear down such an entrenched behemoth within his limited time frame.
Trump is going to spend the next four years battling to apply all of his agenda. He will be faced with resistance the likes of which we’ve probably never seen before. His opponents will fight him, not because they truly believe that he is wrong and that they are right. They will oppose him, and fight him at every turn, simply because he is Donald Trump and they have been brow beaten and brain washed into hating him simply for who he is. Reason will never factor in to their decision making.
Of course “brain washed” might be too harsh a term. For many of his opponents a light rinse would be sufficient.

The interesting thing about the new appointments is that the ensuing battles ahead for each of these appointees. My family has been giddy about the huge election win for the Grump team. They have readily taken to the socials in what they (in their own words) call “trolling “ friends and know liberals about the election!! I on the other hand KNOW that this step is only one of many that must or needs to be made. I have encouraged my family ,instead of trolling , to pray for the success of this administration for what they want to accomplish!!

One way to quickly start the emptying would be to move the department to middle America, such as Oshkosh. Many of the employees would quit. Eliminate those positions immediately.
