Hurricane Helene as they experienced it

Video of the Rhodes family farm during the hurricane, as they tried to save what they could of their farm and livestock. And they were among the lucky ones. They still have a home, food, water, a generator and fuel.

This would have scared me to death. I have had minor flooding in my neighborhood, and even that was heartbreaking. I can’t even imagine.

They are able to post videos because they got a Starlink from a neighbor, and have now ordered one of their own. Thank you, Elon Musk!

    What I take from this:

Chimney Rock has not been taken over by the government, they are already rebuilding, the town isn’t overcome by the smell of rotting bodies, and they aren’t bulldozing bodies. See for yourself.

Obviously I can’t verify if this is true.

I remember how hard they worked to mitigate Helene’s potential damage to their property. Lots of good maintenance before that.

Still, the floods were agonizingly close to their house.

Country life is physically hard and requires endurance, steady effort and patience.

God bless them for showing what it was like in real-time.
