    Happy Friday, kids! I’m pretty sure we’re gonna see a whole bunch more ineptitude and malfeasance today, so get your coffee early and often. Much like we want y’all to vote. This gizmo will let you make some kid of foo-foo coffee it looks like, and you can grind your own beans. Carpe your coffee!

    Well, in terms of getting in to the mountains, we’ve seen helicopters, horses and mules, atvs, one man hiking in to get his parents. Now I just saw people kayaking in hay for stranded horses.

    I pray that this will finally shake people up and make them go back to this do it ourselves way of living.

    Here’s the thing though. We need to get rid of millions of government workers. To reduce spending, to cut out their entitled influence, to reduce regulations and bloat, a million other reasons bureaucracy need to be cut.

    How do we successfully do that, again?

      Since 2013, with a brief respite, it has been like this every single day. The soul-sucking has not maintained a certain level but has increased along the way. Just as they want it to do. If this ship doesn’t get turned around in Nov. I’m afraid for what lies ahead. As Menage notes above, a general gutting of at least half of all “gubmint workers” would seem to be a good start. If the left can eviscerate those people who worked for the good of the Country, there has to be a way to get rid of those brought in to replace them.

          I’m so old I can remember when it was not the place to go to work. The pay was horrible and the only reason to work there was you would get a pension. Now, they are one of the higher-paying entities AND you STILL get a pension. I guess I was the dummy.

              Took me 6 months to get them to stop paying Czar’s pension and longer to take back what they paid in error.

                Last September I had $600+ taken out of my SS deposit. No communication from the government at all, they just did it. Being the math nerd I am, I saw the pattern. It was 4 months of Medicare part B.

                I have always paid part B monthly, and if I had opted for quarterly, it should have been 3 months. Illogical, even for the government.

                It took holding on the phone for, IIRC, almost two hours, to get a human. Then it took a long time for me to convince them that my explanation was correct. They insisted it was a penalty for earnings, but then turned around and said I had no earnings.

                Finally, they gave in and did what ever it was they had to do to order it repaid, and told me I’d have to wait until the end of quarter payout in January. Unless I had an emergency. I told them I did, and it was three weeks.

                What if I’d been one of those poor people who barely make it, month to month?

                And they do stuff like this without even an email! They didn’t have an explanation in their own system, no one knew who did it or why.

      Thank God they’re not all like that.

      Although I do recognize the morning face-plant. At least they remembered to put coffee in the coffee maker. instead of just the filter. Or, turning the coffee pot on BEFORE the water tank was filled.

    afternoon all. cold and sunny here.

    didn’t make it to the Chiro yesterday because the bus service made an error. going today. I was in real pain but but a lady from home health service helped me place my tens unit better and I am not hurting today. I’m surprised.

    well, hope you are all ok. prayers for our fellow Americans suffering in the flood area.
