Good mornin’, and Happy Friday Eve. We know the libs aren’t gonna slow down on the big cheat, so we have to fight back with Big Coffee! By the time y’all see this I will be getting close to landing in Chicago on the way to Indy for a funeral weekend. Not gonna be much fun, but we’re all in this together. An oldie but a goodie this morning. Even has its own cups. We should have coffee covered until I’m back Sunday evening. God Bless and Carpe your coffee!

Mornin’ all ya’all! Beautiful morning here, cool, dry, low humidity, rather breezy (nothing to do with the hurricane). Only one overnight murder in NO news.

How much longer is Mark Cuban going to be in the news cycle? I’m more tired of him than brainless Kamala.

National Pancake Day – good for breakfast or for dinner

National Dumpling Day – the picture shows Chinese type, but I’d go for any dumpling

National Situational Awareness Day – be aware of your surroundings

National Compliance Officer Day – I think they are talking about compliance with computer info rules

National Johnny Appleseed Day – do they even teach this in schools anymore?

National Shamu the Whale Day – the focus was on this one, but it made changes in the whole industry

Good day, Czarina! YES to situational awareness. I remember a friend who was in the USMC describing how they were trained to check out rooms in a house they were clearing of the enemy by visually determining what is in each corner or segment of the area. He called it the pie method.

If you know anyone who home schools, they likely teach about Johnny Appleseed. Here’s a vid which has more of the true story of Johnny than I’ve ever heard before. We sure didn’t learn of his devout faith in God.

Poor Shamu! Thank God I’ve never seen a whale in captivity being forced to perform stupid tricks for a public that just wants to be entertained. I don’t like zoos or circuses. The last time I visited a zoo was in the late 60’s when vacationing on Oahu. It was shocking to see a large male lion in a small cage. There’s not a single reason to have wild animals in confinement, especially when it’s possible day and night to view live feeds showing animals in their natural habitats, 24/7/52/365…

    Good afternoon all,

Thankful for this haven in the storms. And that’s more than the weather.

Thoughts and prayers follow each of you, as I read. and write. The wonderful sense of humor here carries above the necessary knowledge about the not-at-all-funny stuff.

I recommend the Roseanne Barr interview. She’s as direct as ever. It’s long, but grab a cup of Tex’s coffee, and take a break if you need one. I did.

Hi Reflection! Roseanne is definitely direct! Some might say a little whacky, but I applaud Tucker for allowing complete free speech on his platform.

She’s not everyone’s cup of tea. She wasn’t mine, at first. But as I learned more about her, it helped me understand her better. The recollection of her childhood in this presentation, even if it is not exact, explains a good deal. It was not appropriate for adults to relate to her the horrors of the Holocaust, (Perhaps it was their outlet for the trauma they had experienced.)

Yet there she was trying to be heard in different ways, some naughty, some nice. It’s the same today.

I think she has found some peace in her purpose. An imperfect messenger, as indeed we all are, I applaud her search for truth, and her championing of children. She is a fighter, and she has endured much.

I just received my “Annual Notice of Changes for 2025” from Blue Cross/Blue Shield. My monthly premium will be reduced by $3.00 starting in January, and my cost for specialist office visits, dental, vision and hearing will be reduced by $10 per visit, which will save me $30 (at least) next year. Ambulance services and emergency co-pays are increasing from $275 to $325 (ambulance) and from $90 to $125 (emergency).

Doesn’t look like there will be any changes in costs for prescriptions for me, although I haven’t checked the formulary for the new year. All of the prescriptions I take are currently in tier one, and there is no co-pay for those. I pay out of pocket for low-dose aspirin, vitamin D and vitamin-B complex/vitamin C.
