Good mornin’, and Happy Saturday, y’all! Going a little offbeat today. I got to thinking and just in case we all get moved out of our casa for some cat-eatin’ weirdo’s, we better be prepared for the hobo life. But at lease we’ll look good. Carpe your coffee, kids!

Nice percolator, Texan! Tried to find coffee cups to match, but this is as close as I got….
Drink up!

Someday in the not too distant future, we are not going to have access to the coffee beans Wee. And we, as far as I know, don’t have any around East Tennessee.

Of course, there is always tea, and it can be grown in temperate climates. They grow it in England, for example.

True. But tea has caffeine and – if you are desperate – it’s better than nothing. Chickory is fine, but it doesn’t contain caffeine.

They grow it around here. In fact it is a camelia plant.

Well, Wee, if you had ginger hair, they might have grabbed an arm and dragged you to a spot where the spigot to the West Bend would drip, drip, drip right into your mouth. Gingers can be very accommodating when assisting their own.

It is coming out of hibernation and losing its winter coat, so it looks awful. I first saw deer in Yellowstone with all these messy patches of fur in June, and I thought they were sick. Hope it has a good summer.

Good day to you, Czarina! Since he’s sort of “domesticated”, perhaps he’d let one of the keepers brush him out. But on second thought, seeing those claws might be a human deterrent.

I was about to sit here and ask if you thought pets would be the wake up/get mad point for liberals. And then I thought about that man who says he wished his son had been killed by a 60 year old white man. Nope. I reckon for some, the stupid is a death sentence.
But we are seeing others begin to ask questions.

Vincent Van Gogh…
“Sorrowing Old Man” is an oil painting by Vincent van Gogh that he made in 1890 in Saint-Rémy de Provence based on an early lithograph. The painting was completed in early May at a time when he was convalescing from a severe relapse in his health some two months before his death, which is generally accepted as a suicide. In the 1970 catalogue raisonné, it was given the title “Worn Out: At Eternity’s Gate”….

Afternoon All! It is a cool, gray, overcast, misty day here. Great day for a walk which pleases my little Loki a lot.
I went to my kids’s yesterday. They have a trampoline with a screen all around it so they can’t fall out and the hole they go in through has a zipper on it to seal it up. They put the baby in there and he loves bouncing. It is probably the safest place he could be and he has a great time.
Well, hope every is well and has a great day.

We chose not to go on an Advantage plan, and I am very leery of them for a number of reasons. I plan to watch more of this guy’s videos before making choices this year.
Navigating through the Medicare and supplemental plans was one of the worst nightmares I’ve faced in making financial decisions. Or maybe I was just too scared of making a wrong choice. It happened for us when I was in the midst of the ankle replacement years, and my husband had some joint replacement surgeries also.
Fortunately, there is an agency in East Tennessee that our doc recommended. They take your specific health and drug issues and help you navigate to the best choices for your needs, and they give you all the pricing going in. Not one choice we made deviated from the options they showed us.
Specifically related to this video, the only choice we’ve had problems with has been our Part D provider, and they continue to make me want to pull my hair out. Not just money, coverage, etc. but unresolved problems. Apparently many companies now have no plan in place to resolve issues when problems happen. There appears to be no corporate acknowledgment that things don’t roll down the planned conveyor belt and not roll off. I am serious.

I do what that agency does. If you ever want a second opinion, let me know. A reputable agent is agnostic towards Supp’s or Advantage plans. Whatever is best for the client. Just so you know, the drug plans will be impacted whether they are alongside a Supp plan or included in the Advantage plan.

Thanks T. Yeah, on the drugs I figured that had to be true.

This is all so confusing. And, the more they explain, the more confused I get. Thankfully I am on an Advantage plan that works for me and I don’t have many problems. I only take two prescriptions and I could get off the BP med if I will lose some (okay, a lot) of weight. But, I will talk to my agent after Oct. 1. Thanks for the info. It made me realize I do need to look into the change.

I have an Advantage plan through BCBS that I have been very happy with. I don’t know how this will affect me, however. I take
fourfive prescriptions – all at zero copay for me right now. After two hospitalizations within five years, I am also happy with my coverage.LikeLiked by 4 people
If your plan is provided through your employer, or union, there will be some changes, but it may not look exactly like what he describes. A lot more variables when it’s a “group” Medicare plan. That’s what I spent eight years doing until last year.
LikeLiked by 3 people
My plan is not employer or union provided. I chose it myself upon retirement. While employed, I had BCBS for years, so I felt comfortable with them. BCBS is a major insurance provider here in Michigan because of the auto industry.
ADD: I have a PPO plan that includes Part C and minimal eye and dental coverage.

My friend has BCBS from her state job she retired from about 20 years ago and pays $500 a month. But she has to take some medicine that costs $23,000 a shot 4 times a year and they are the only ones who cover it.

Wow. That’s a lot of money! My BCBS Medicare Advantage premium is $75 a month.
During my last 5-day hospitalization, the total hospital bill was just under $47,000. My part was $1,250, and that was for my part of room and board. I also paid just over $200 for ambulance service. When I go to a specialist (my cardiologist and the pulmonologist I had to see after hospitalization) the copay is $40. I don’t pay a copay for my prescriptions or for my primary care doctor. I had a CT scan after I got out of the hospital, and my copay was $49.79 for that.

I had a good friend who headed up the BCBS Medicare shop until a year or so ago. They are THE major player in MI. What we’re hearing is that a lot of the ancillary coverages like the dental and vision are also getting a haircut. I don’t have any inside info just yet. Tell your agent that you want to review the new benefits when you get your Annual Notice of Change (ANOC) materials. Watch the formulary as well to see if any cutbacks to the drug list. FYI….my Medicare started 9/1!
😀

I answered this, but my answer disappeared! Anyway, it’s good to have insider info. Btw, I don’t have an agent; I handled it myself. Was that dumb? I’m so far happy with my plan, and my premium is $75 a month. It actually has gone down over the years.
My daughter works for BCBS’ national organization in Chicago. She’s in management in the IT end of it.

I used to take a drug that was in a higher tier (Brilinta), but my doctor changed me over to a lower tier drug (Plavix generic), and I don’t have to (at this time) pay a copay for that.
LikeLiked by 1 person
The changes must be substantial because I’m getting out-of-ordinary attention from my insurance company re drug coverage for 2025 via letters, emails, telephone calls. I have a feeling that perhaps I should stock up before December 31st.
LikeLiked by 3 people
The main thing to keep in mind is that if you are taking meds that are in Tier 1 or Tier 2, you likely won’t see a lot of major changes. If you are taking name brand drugs, you may see your costs go up, but not to more than $2,000 for the year. That doesn’t include premiums you might pay to the insurance company.

Apparently this is just a ho-hum/oh-well moment for the so-called prosecutors….
The Illegal Haitian That Killed A Grandma With His Car In Springfield Ohio Won’t Face Charges (Video)
https://vidmax.com/video/229327-the-illegal-haitian-that-killed-a-grandma-with-his-car-in-springfield-ohio-won-t-face-charges
The illegal Haitian who struck and killed a 71-year-old Springfield, Ohio resident while she was collecting her garbage cans, WILL NOT FACE CHARGES.
Kathy Heaton, a 71-year-old resident of Springfield, Ohio, was struck and killed by a car driven by a Haitian illegal a day after her 71st birthday.
“It was around 5:40 in the morning. The trash had come early that day and we think that’s what probably woke her up,” Kathy’s daughter-in-law said.
The impact was so severe that her socks were left on the pavement, and debris and clumps of hair were found on the car’s windshield.
Prosecutors decided not to charge the driver, 38-year-old Robenson Louis. He was reportedly him driving with expired license plates.
“They didn’t feel that it was anything prosecutable. We don’t know why. The only facts I know are that two prosecutors met and felt there were no charges to be filed. We were devastated.”
Kamala Harris’s open border policy has brought around 20,000 migrants to the town of 60,000.
