So we awaken this morning to a shooting overnight in a touristy area killing 1 and wounding 11. The TV has been interviewing visitors to show their unhappiness, a novel take. Won’t make any difference, since the young men who do such shootings don’t care. And, as Czar used to say, midnight basketball doesn’t solve any problems.

Just saw that three men were shot on Tulane avenue, as well. Probably won’t catch the shooters in either case.

Afternoon All. 48* here and overcast. Still a nice day. Took my paperwork to AARP tax help and left it with them. Mine is actually pretty simple. They said they would call me in about an hour and a half. I will have to pay Montana taxes, I know. But, I hope I get something back from Federal so I can pay State.

My Federal taxes were a wash this year – nothing back. The two prior years I got about $475 back. In Michigan we get a tax bonus as seniors, so I got a little over $900 refunded; 2/3 of that was a property tax credit.

Well, I just got back from picking up the papers. I got some back from Federal and a pirate’s chest load from Montana. I qualified for some kind of senior’s rent plan. Whoa.

Good news! In our state, renters get a property tax credit too, and taxpayers in my age group have a $20,000 standard deduction.
