This is merely a legend.
In Jesus’ time, the dogwood grew
To a stately size and a lovely hue.
‘Twas strong and firm, its branches interwoven.
For the cross of Christ its timbers were chosen.
Seeing the distress at this use of their wood
Christ made a promise which still holds good:
“Never again shall the dogwood grow
Large enough to be used so.
Slender and twisted, it shall be
With blossoms like the cross for all to see.
As blood stains the petals marked in brown,
The blossom’s center wears a thorny crown.
All who see it will remember Me
Crucified on a cross from the dogwood tree.
Cherished and protected, this tree shall be
A reminder to all of My agony.”

Have a blessed Saturday, Stellars….

LOL! Tradition! This morning I actually looked up why bunnies are connected to Easter. No real explanation for why the Germans brought the tradition to the Americas or why it’s connected in the first place. Such explanations are lost somewhere in time, though it’s most likely from the pre-Christian era. It may be pagan, but I still like my bunny decorations.

Good mornin’, czarina. I may pass on the soup today, but I may well get out a brand new pencil and amaze my grandchildren with just such an invention. Coffee’s ready, whenever you are.

Turkey necks make really good stock. My local butcher (a real one) sells extra necks just for this purpose before Thanksgiving. I think my supermarket sometimes sells them in the frozen food section.

Good day, Czarina! Connecting pencils and necks (even turkey ones) of course brings up Pencil Neck Schiff (may he lose to Steve Garvey in a landslide!).
Virtually vacationing in parks and beautiful venues can be done each day…check out this 40 minutes of joy….

Did you know this? The last execution by guillotine in France was in 1977!!!
Maybe they should threaten to restore it. Also, look at who was executed.
1977: France stages its last execution using the guillotine.
A Tunisian immigrant living in Marseilles, Hamida Djandoubi, was executed for the torture-slaying of his girlfriend. He had killed her in revenge, after she reported to authorities that he had tried to force her into prostitution.

Apparently some woke French folk deemed the guillotine too gruesome. Unfortunately Tunisians and other Hamas-loving Western-civilization haters are still in revenge mode in France and brainwashed to the max everywhere they reside.

I’ll bet you could substitute your favorite flavors for the curry and hot peppers. I can imagine adding more onions and bell peppers, with just a bit of heat like pepper flakes.

yeah, that would help.

Good day, Stella! What a wonderful dish to serve! I’m addicted to chickpeas but the name Garbanzo beans sounds so much more exotic.

Mornin’ All. We got up a little earlier this morning. It is 35* and very sunny out. Pretty day. No wind. Thick white clouds over all the mountains, all the way around us. Pretty.
The zipper on my coat broke this morning. I hope I can fix it. It has snaps, but they don’t hold very well or keep the wind out when it is really cold. And, the snaps aren’t very close together. I guess I have a few months to get it fixed before I need it again.
Hope you all have a nice weekend and a blessed Easter.

Take care!

I read a story about the Cherry Blossom trees being moved from the DC Tidal Basin the other day, and the story noted it was because of rising water levels. It sounded a bit suspicious, and after about 30 seconds of research, it appears that the article left out a couple damning facts. First, the Tidal Basin is not fed by sea water, but a tributary of the Potomac River, and second, DC land is sinking, and 3rd, the city has not repaired the seawall around the complex for year. But it was all blamed on glo-bull warming/climate change. The last time I checked, the level of most rivers are not dependent upon any change in sea levels. Could just be me…….

Dem in power depend upon people not checking out their claims. Yes, they do certainly think we all, both Dem and Repub, are stupid.

I figured it’s just because people love the trees, so they decided to kill them.
