Stellars, have a Wondrous Wednesday visiting the oldest ancient structures….

The oldest continuously used building in the world…Basilica Santa Maria ad Martyres…

The Pantheon is a former Roman temple and, since AD 609, a Catholic church in Rome, Italy. It was built on the site of an earlier temple commissioned by Marcus Agrippa during the reign of Augustus, then after that burnt down, the present building was ordered by the emperor Hadrian and probably dedicated c. AD 126. Its date of construction is uncertain, because Hadrian chose not to inscribe the new temple but rather to retain the inscription of Agrippa’s older temple. (Wikipedia)

5 Oldest Buildings from Around the World

Göbekli Tepe is an archaeological site of a temple in Southeastern Turkey and has been dated back to 9500 – 8000 BCE. This date was discovered by carbon dating old tools found during excavations. This building is in fact the oldest structure on earth that we have found to date. It is even older than the Egyptian pyramids and even Stonehenge.

The Cairn of Barnenez is a monument that can be found in Northern France. This is the second oldest structure in the world, dating all the way back to 4800 BCE. This is the largest megalithic mausoleum found to date. “Megalithic mausoleums” are buildings that house tombs and burial chambers. They were often built underground and were looked at as a passageway for the dead to reach the afterlife.

Not only are we no longer producers of great art, architecture, as near as I can tell, music, we have a lot of people whose goal is destruction of those of generations past.

Good mornin’, Miss Wee! There are rumors floating around that many of these museums might be in on some of this as it’s not supposed to be easy to bring “stuff” into these places. Nothing much surprises me anymore. Might as well grab some coffee and get ready for today’s onslaught. 😦

The hits just keep on coming at Harvard, that bastion of brilliance. Now it’s been discovered that their DIE head is a cheater, just like her former boss is. This is better though, because this cheater actually used her husband’s work to cheat with! You can’t make this stuff up! DIVERSITY!!!!!! 😀 😀 😀

Actually, this makes perfect sense. Let’s think about it.

DEI means, by its very definition, to take from someone else and give to he who did not produce that thing. Or probably anything else of much note. Therefore, we need them to step up, set the example, and lead the way in the DEI program, which is unrepentant and proud theft.

      I am not being sarcastic.

I refuse to call this …….thing by they way “they” want me to. I use the original set-up of DIE which is how it was originally presented to me at my large corporate job. Then, mysteriously, some time later, it became DEI. Unless I’m being interviewed by Tucker or on national TeeVee, that’s how I’m gonna roll. 😉

National Hot Chocolate Day – knew this was coming and have been preparing by drinking it everyday!

    National Backward Day
HOW TO OBSERVE NATIONAL BACKWARD DAY
    Go out the back door.
Have dinner for breakfast and breakfast for dinner.
Instead of coming unglued when you’re upset, get glued.
    Add coffee to your milk.
Add ice cream to your chocolate.
Do your work in reverse order.
Say, “Goodbye,” instead of “Hello,” when answering the phone.
Twiddle your pinkies, not your thumbs.
    Wear your sweatshirt backward.
    Write your name backward.
    Write an entire sentence backward.
Run the bases in baseball backward.
    Watch a movie backward.
Read a book starting with the last page.
    Play a record backward.
You can also explore backward language by reading 5 Backward Ways to Use Words.

Good afternoon, Czarina. Some heart art paintings….

      Pierre-Auguste Renoir “Discarded Roses” (1911)

John Singer Sargent “An Out-of-Doors Study” (1889)

Vincent Van Gogh “Cafe Terrace at Night” (1888)

“Le Sillon” by Fernand Toussaint (1895)

(This lithograph from the Les Maitres de L’Affiche collection is in my collection.)

Afternoon All. We are back down to 25* this morning. The problem is, it has been so warm, just about everything has melted and now is freezing, making the sidewalks ice rinks. It doesn’t help much to walk on the snow because it has gotten hard and when you step on it, it holds you up a few seconds and then you fall through. Makes it difficult to walk anywhere.

    Have fun.
